Lol - package drama. I'm in Canada and I have a different package which is equally impossible. I have to push really hard to pop the blister, and then the side plastic digs under my thumbnail. I have cut myself twice. Still, I find the ritual satisfying, like Tiger said. Funny that the packaging is sadistic on both sides of the border.

Do you have gel caps in Canada? Or are they capsules with powder?

I felt so satisfied after I got all of those pills out last night. The packaging is evil!

Day 56

I feel as though everything is pretty much going away, except for what’s on the right side of my chin & jawline (Now that I’ve said that I’m going to get another breakout). I can tell I’m about to get a new pimple, it hasn’t come to a head but it will probably get bigger in the next few days I’m guessing. I took a picture of the right side of my chin/jawline last night, but I will spare you guys from seeing that. I don’t even want to look at it for a while. Maybe when it heals, I’ll post a before & after.

Month two is coming to an end. I’m going to drop off & pick up my script for month three today. I feel more on the positive side today…I almost feel like there’s a good chance I’ll be nicely clearing by my birthday in June. Posted Image

Yay another month down!! you'll be clear by the end of this month, its supposed to be the crucial time for it all to go away :P. judging from your pictures you should have no problem =). hopefully in time for your bday! where in canada are you from if you don't mind me asking. PM me if that's better =)

It does feel good getting them out of there doesn't it! To throw away the boxes! I just couldn't do that twice a day! So I take all mine out every month too!

So I was really curious on how your derm knows if your pregnant or not when you go in for your monthly appointment? I was reading through my iPledge booklet cause I got bored, and was curious, do they just find out through your bloodwork? Cause all I do is get blood tested and then go see my derm 2 days later and she updates me.

This is nottttt a post saying anything about being pregnant or anything like that (I'm on bp and abstinence!) I was just curious is all to how they figure all that mumbo jumbo out :P.

I take a pregnancy test. Pee in a cup lol. It is possible to test you for pregnancy with your blood though.

Yeah I only get blood tests and the lab tech told me that it includes a pregnancy test. They said the blood pregnancy tests are MUCH more accurate than pee tests. I think they measure certain levels of hormones in your blood which then let your derm know if you're preggo or not: http://www.babyhopes...reaccurate.html

Apparently they detect faster than urine tests, too! Crazzzy.

I don't know! They're funny looking pills and I can't tell what's inside. I suspect that it's liquid though.
They look like the orange ones:

I'm surprised with how fast these months are going by! It's pretty awesome. I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel today. Everything that was on my forehead is clearing, as well as two that I had on my chin. Everything is pretty much on both sides of my jawline right now! It's really weird, but it's better than having breakouts on my face I guess. I have one active whitehead on my chin, but that's about it for my face! Everything is starting to heal up, finally! It would be the best birthday present to have clear skin. :)

Yes! It feels awesome to throw those packages in the trash and not have to bother with them twice a day. That's just too much for me, haha.

They test everything with that monthly blood work: to see if you're prego, they also check cholesterol and of course check to see if your liver is doing alright while on 'tane.

That is awesome! Stay patient and I'm sure before you know it those cysts will be gone! I'm trying my best to remain positive with this cystic pimple on my jawline that just doesn't want to go away. We're getting there! Every day is a day closer to clear skin. :)

You're welcome, Taylor! I'm good! I had off from work today so I got my car inspected and an oil change and had breakfast with my dad. Then I came home and took a nap. I have off from work tomorrow until Tuesday, so I'm just going to enjoy myself! How are you? I see you're finishing up with schoolwork, which is awesome!

My pregnancy test is combined with my monthly blood test. They test your HCG levels, it's a hormone that is present or increases if you're pregnant. I can't even get pregnant because my husband had a vasectomy years ago but I guess they assume you could always cheat - how rude!! Like I'm gonna cheat with a face full of acne - haha, just kidding (comic relief for everybody). For real though, I have an awesome husband, he's my best friend and biggest supporter. :) Had to answer my iPledge questions today, so lame!

Day 58

Month three starts Saturday, BRING IT ON 80MG. I'M READY.

I am noticing a difference in my skin. Everything is really starting to heal. Then I have the new active that sprouted on my chin, as well as my jawline which is still lookin' ugly.

I decided to take some photos tonight. The ones on the left are from today, and the ones on the right are from day 46. It doesn't look that much different from the pictures...but I can tell that the texture of my skin is starting to feel much better, less bumpy. The ones on my cheek in these photos are pink because I picked. I'm so bad...sometimes I can't help myself. I need to be smacked whenever I go to pick.

Aaaandd my jawline...what a mess. Posted Image

Hey Katie, you jaw looking a lot like mine a bunch of healing acne and some active guys. It really sucks. I have 2 new zits today small but I popped them and now they look worse then they were in the first place. I don't know why I continue to pick and pop these stupid things when I know it's going to worsen the already bad situation. Yet here I am still picking the things. I think I do it because it is going to shorten the life of the zit but it probably doesn't.

I can see a difference in your skin though. I see where things have healed and are getting lighter marks. Awesome!

Hey Betsy, ugh it sucks, doesn't it? I'm just confused why Accutane is making me break out on my jaw when the last time I broke out on my jaw was when I was 17/18. I didn't even break out on my jaw during my last course. It's weird, but at least it's less noticeable than acne on the face! Picking & popping are a bad habit that I wish I could stop. Sometimes I'm good & I can control myself...other times it's impossible.

Thanks, that's good to hear! I'm very pleased with the way everything has been healing with the exception of my jaw.

We need some real clearing soon! I'll keep hoping we see a drastic improvement soon. Posted Image

Day 61

Month three has officially started. 80mg/day! I am still seeing a nice amount of clearing on my face. The pimple that I got last week is still in the process of healing. My forehead is clearing, my cheeks look clear as well. Jawline? That's still the problem area. Everything is kind of slowly healing, but I've got to wait it out. I am hoping with everything in me that I don't experience a breakout from the increase in dosage. So far, things are good! No new actives. *KNOCK ON WOOD* Everything is calming down. The last pimple I got was last week.

I went to the pool at my condo with my mom yesterday, and I put SPF30 on...but I forgot my chest. We were in the sun for about two hours, so I have a little bit of sunburn going on. It doesn't even hurt, surprisingly. It's just pink. I'll be sure to get every inch of my body next time, haha. I hate sunburn.

So, I've noticed that I have no appetite. The past three days I just haven't been as hungry as I usually am, which is strange. I don't think it's Accutane related. I have lost 3 pounds in a week though, but I can't really say that's strange because my weight tends to fluctuate all the time.

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! Posted Image

Hey girl! Sounds great about you clearing up so fast! I feel you about the sun sensitivity. We were walking around in the sun a lot yesterday and I forgot my hat. I didn't get burned, but my face was red all day in this annoying way, despite wearing spf 15. :( Thankfully it's gone today, but I get the tane burn really easily, especially from minimal sun exposure.

I've also experienced some lessening appetite from accutane, but I welcome it because the birth control can make me a bit more hungry sometimes. So I figure it all cancels itself out now. Haha Hopefully you're still drinking lots of water and paying attention to your body. Sometimes a bit of plain neutral food like bread, crackers, applesauce can keep you going if you're not feeling up for huge meals. Hope that helps...
