I have been doing lots of research on Subcision lately and have not really been able to find too much info about the risks of the procedure.
Tamara, did your doctor state any risks? Infection, more scarring?
It seems like a very safe, low risk procedure?

It's Tamaras photos that have inspired me to go for Subcision tomorrow - although my scars aren't the same as hers, I hope it will have some effect on pits.

Hey I am new on this site and I must say Tamara you are the greatest. You never give up and you are having great improvements and I Am very happy for you.I must say that if you people saw my face you would say you really have nothing to worry about out because yours are very mild and shallow and you can count them with one hand. I have three quarters of my face which is great smooth skin which you would never know I had acne. I only have a small area on my left jawline which has acne scars.(which people tell me they don't notice and are nothing that should bother me evern doctors tell me this and everyone). But all I want is for them to understand I would like to make it even better cause i hated acne and want to feel the best i can feel about myself. My scars are only visible in certain lighting where obviously shadows form.In daytime they are not noticeable. I had a microdermabrasion 2 sessions and i must say improvement was made. They are smoother and when i touch them no edges are felt just the feeling of smooth skin even though it is still not even everywhere. The Problem is it is really difficult to find a doctor who would really dedicate himself to making your wishes come true even and take all the time it needs.I think since i only have really few and really shallow and are rolling scars i think subscision would be great for me since after the procedure the skin gets even and then after about a month i think i'll have something like microdermabrasion or n-lite laser just to smooth out everything....Thanks Tamara keep the faith you are getting improvements and we must all not lose hope...

P.S. Hey Guys dont stay looking at yourself from a bathroom mirror where the lighting is artificial like from tubes or spotlights in the bathroon these cause shadows and give the impression that your scars are worse than they actually are so look at yourself in daylight..that's who You really are.

Tamara, you really look fantastic.
wanna ask a question. subsicion worked well for you , but before subsicion are you suitable candidate for isolagen treatment.
i ask you that because my scars look your scars before treatment.
and want to make a decision which treatment i should try

Hey guys i was wondering i have only about 6 rolling shallow scars on whole face and they are not that deep. I heard that these types of scars are the most responsive to needling and subscion and heard they will really fill up..Which one shall i go for and is it true that they really fill in that good?

Has anyone had subcision done on their nose? I just came back from my derm and am scheduled for subcision in late August. He said that this technique has greater success on the cheeks and chin, but wasn't overly excited about the potential in the nose area. That being said, he said that if the scar really bothered me, it was worth a try.

If anyone has had experience with subcision on the nose, I would love the hear about it.

Eddy.

O:) Hello Everyone!
I went to see a MD today for my acne scars. [-o< She said I should try SUBCISION but she also said subcision alone will not help acne scars that fat transfer HAS to be done right after SUBCISION to see any result. :-s
I am confused now because I just saw Tamara's before and after pictures and I can see a big improvement without fat transfer.
I think I am going to get a second opinion about having subcision and fat transfer together. It is avious that SUBCISION alone can work.

To Tamara: Your skin looks FFFFFabulous! and thank you so much for sharing your experiences. =D>

Tamara -

Thanks for the extensive info. Looks like you got some great results.

I am not familiar with the second treatment that you mentioned - The light treatment. What does that involve. It appeared to give you some additional good results.

You're welcome.
Thus far, I am happier with needling for my scarring.

I assume you are talking about N-Lite? It's a non-ablative laser that stimulates collagen. Quick, painless and expensive.

Tamara,
do you think people would get better results through combining subcision with smoothbeam as opposed to N-lite? Smoothbeam is supposed to be more effective than N-lite, isn't it?
I'm thinking of combining needling with smoothbeam at some point in the near future - I'm hoping that this will have a similar effect...

Thought I'd resurrect this thread! wink.gif

It's certainly possible. I have read that it's more powerful than SmoothBeam, and it is approved for treating acne scars whereas N-Lite is approved for wrinkles around the eyes. As the saying goes "your mileage may vary" -- some people see better results than others, some see no results at all.

i think .... if u do needling and do subcision like 30 days after that ...
i believe there might be much more result ...

EPIDERMIS
-------------
DERMIS
-------------
SUBCUTANEOUS FATTY TISSUE

this is the layer of the skin ... and if u do needling with permenant make up tool ... i believe needle only goes up to 1/4 or 2/4 of the dermis ... and subcision goes deeper... inbetween dermis and subcutaneous fatty tissue ...

therefor after doing needling, collgen inbetween dermis and epidermis will reform and subcision will help collegen inbetween dermis and sub- which i think double the time of effectiveness

plz note that this is only my guess ...

good luck

So how's your skin looking now? Any pics? Are you going to have more subcision work done in the future?

Cheers.

Are you talking to Oursfan?

She made an album of her progress through subcision and later one for needling -

I can't remember the subcision link but here's the needling one.
(Hope you don't mind me doing this, Tamara!):

http://www.tamaramadden.com/Needling/Needling.htm

I think Tamara was more satisfied with needling than with subcision.

dave666: Since having subcision and two rounds of N-Lite my improvements seemed to diminish somewhat. I wanted more improvement than I got and so I decided to have needling done. I have had two sessions of needling thus far and I feel I have seen more improvement from that than from subcision, thus far. At this time, I do not intend to have subcision done again, but I do intend on having at least two more sessions of needling done in time.

That being said, some people have had good results from subcision. Unfortunately, I have no idea how your skin or anyone else's will respond to it.
