Due to what I think is a hormonal breakout centered around my chin/jaw area, I've decided that shaving with a regular razor may just add more irritation. I'm ready to buy a trimmer, but first I have some questions.

Any recommendations regarding what trimmer to buy? I had my eye on this: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004QWST7Y
And is it really a less irritating shave? This pic (http://ecx.images-am...HaL._AA300_.jpg) makes it seem as if a trimmer shaves close enough to the skin that it can also aggravate it, especially if there's active acne, which is my case right now. Thanks for any advice anyone can provide.

Hey man, I had exactly the same problem. When my acne was severe I could never wet shave as it would just irritate my skin in further =/.

I stopped wet shaving altogether and now I just trim my stubble to 1mm. I have however finally cured my acne and can now wet shave, well I wet shave my cheeks and go around my stubble line. This defines my beard more.

Anyway I cannot give this trimmer anymore praise ... they're just AMAZING! I love the fact that I can control what length I have my beard too! Give it a try! They last forever too! http://www.amazon.co...&sr=1-1-catcorr

Hope this helps mate!

Get a trimmer. When I did shave, I would get really annoying shaving irritation, but once I changed to just using a trimmer, I no longer got any irritation.

I shaved with razors and D-E Razors for YEARS before switching over to the new Panasonic ES. http://www.amazon.co...ef=pd_sim_hpc_1 I know it is really expensive but it is SO worth it in the long run. I have literally no irritation or aggravation of my acne. You can also buy the cheaper models that don't come with the cleaner/dryer system.
