We need a chat room on here!

That's exactly what I was thinking! It would be cool to have an instant message thing at the bottom of the website. Then we can chat with people about acne stuff and tell eachother what we have used etc and find out how to get rid of acne quicker.

But, hey, maybe there is somewhere out there an acne chat room haha.

We used to have one. It didn't work out well, so it was removed.
You are both fairly new members. Once you become a veteran member, you will be able to access The Lounge, which is our off-topic forum.

There was but it was taken down. That's pretty much all I'll say because it's been talked about to death and don't want to resurrect all the standard yaddayadda about it.

im all for a live chat thing. seriously it up into sections that could be based on gender, age, specific question or topic and just a place to "chill". Sure the lounge is okay but no the go to method for just wanting to talk. instant messaging is the way.

either implement some sort of chat program used by like my college for online courses (they have some java script thing) or mimic msm messenger, yahoo, or go to a dating site like christian mingle n check out there program. its basically based off of what i said above.

u do and dont have to have moderators either. have people sign a online waver that says their so and so age to enter this specific online chat, say ur not responsible for whatever happens, dont exchange person info over chat or agree to meet someone, dont spam or be an a-hole. watch cursing (if needed). I think you could implement some type of software too that would kick people for spamming or swearing or personally attacking others.

all in all it would be a great addition to the website. think about it.

when and why wasnt it successful. If this was done in the time before this website was popular then that's your reason.Instant messaging is the future.. embrace it, also software tech is so much easier these days then in the past.

I advise you to get over your then grudge, get some people together and look at it for a new prospective, new point of view. i see old judgements clouding your judgement. pretty sad if you ask me.

Feel free to do a search here in the Announcements forum for chat.
It wasn't that long ago.The site was well established.
It worked just fine, but people used it inappropriately and it got way out of hand.
As heroic said above, it's been talked to death.
There's no grudge at all.

Well than it would be up to someone to host a chat session that is not affiliated with acne.org
It is possible to use other programs like steam, xfire, msn, yahoo, aol, and just have people register then join a group specifically related to this site. I'm not going to read into how people abused it. Its each persons responsibility to act appropriate regardless of age.

I would say i would rent a server just to host some sort of chat program. I would need help though as im not that technically inclined on how to set it up.

If anyone is interested feel free to PM me as i have teamspeak, ventrilo, or xfire to discuss such matters.

Since this comes up every now and then, I've decided to set up a chat room on Stickam some time ago. Not related to Acne.org in any way, but I agree that in this time and age, a chat room is a convenient way of talking to people. All you have to do is create a Stickam account, send me your username, and I'll add you to the group. One thing: keep it decent.

if anyone geets a problem connecting to the chatroom try using a different internet explore such as modzilla firefox, or google chrome
