So I was at the grocery store looking for a moisturizer and I couldn't find anything I liked so I headed over to the supplement section and found a Hair, Skin, & Nails supplement by Sundown Naturals.

You take 3 caplets a day and it has:

Has anyone else tried it? I'm super excited about it and I'm really pleased with the total amount of Vitamin A.

Outside of a higher dose Vit A and the complex with PABA, Choline, etc. It doesn't look like anything special. Seems like you'd be better off eating to get those vitamins, or using a quality multi and add in those other nutrients with bulk powders or capsules. It might be more pills, but it'd be much cheaper in the long run IMO. My sister uses this product actually, and it doesn't make any real difference, it's up to you though.

watch out for the iodine and biotin. i've done some reading to suggest to much can be a bad thing. the iron is low which is good you wont have to worry about od'ing on that. gl with it.

I read somewhere that biotin generates keratin production. I don't know if that would end up causing problems in the pores? Maybe increasing incidence of sebum plugs? Anyone know or have an idea?

Very possible. Biotin is know around here to cause problems like clogged pores and breakouts. I would assume this is the reason why. Isn't keratin needed for strong hair?

I think for hair and nails and cell growth. I guess if you took measures to counteract the possible plugging, it might be ok. lol Most skin formulas, that I have seen anyways, include biotin. I wonder if the dosage equates with increased risk... a certain amount of biotin causes more pore problems.

I try to avoid biotin, if only for the mostly negative reviews about it on here.

I was inadvertently taking it in a Women's Health supplement and now that I've eradicated that, my breakouts have subsided somewhat although that may be coincidence!
