As the title mentioned can you shave if you have active acne such as whiteheads and those with pus and non-pus on the beard area?
Will it cause irritation etc?

Yes, just take some care when shaving the areas though. It's good exfoliation

You can however, it will cut those pimples off, cause bleeding, and thus red irritated skin. I would advise against it, but do as you want, it will only take longer for those to heal.

Instead of shaving, I use a electric beard trimmer so that way the blades never irritate the skin. You wont have a clean shaven look, but the skin stays clear of sharp cutting blades!

Best thing to do before you shave would be to pop the pimples, then go about shaving. Shaving while the pimple is still "active" (not popped), will just make it a pain in the ass. Nothing should happen to the redness if you shave over it.
