I have been using the regimen for roughly 3 years. I absolutely love it. It works. I'm not sure how to articulate my thoughts and questions but I'm going to give it a go. How can one regimen work for everyone? Not everyone is the same or reacts the same to the products. As I get older, I cannot for the life of me get my skin moisturized. Yes I use the recommended amount and I've tried a bit more and jojoba oil with it. I am just flaky. I hate having so many layers on my skin. At night it doesn't matter so much but during the day...the moisurizer makes my skin an yellow/orangey color. I know I know. Dan says he has no idea what ppl. like me are talking about, blah blah blah. I don't get how I am one of a few with this??! Companies sell tinted moisturizer to use as an alternative to fully pigmented foundation. How is it that a yellow tinted moisturizer isn't going to cast a yellowish color to the skin?? I don't get it in the opposite way from the main I guess. So the moisturizer doesn't get my skin moisturized enough to look decent by my standards. I can't find anything else to use out there that won't break me out or go on like elmers paste glue and I wish that my miracle worker(dans brain) had a moistuizer for others...one size does not fit all. What the heck is a girl to do? Suggestions. I don't know that I asked anything coherently but anyway...Has anyone tried BP at night and aha during the day? I've tried stopping the bp in the am to bypass all the above but I broke out horribly, even as I tried a little more and more. I need the full recommendation. arrrggggghhhh. Thank you for listening to my rambling.

Well you're not alone in having the moisturiser give you a nice yellowish tinge, there are a few who have mentioned it on the boards, but personally it doesnt effect my skin. It just sinks in as normal and is invisible.

First of all, congrats on having clear skin. I'm not sure that I can give you any advice on the moisturiser because I agree, that many of the heavier moisturisers (like cetaphil) go on like clag glue and I hate that feeling. The only thing that made a huge difference to the texture and hydration of my skin was incorporating the AHA+ at night. But it sounds like you're already doing that.

I no longer wear BP during the day, I just put it on at night but my skin still needs plenty of moisturiser. I still put on 3 layers of dans moisturiser in the morning, and usually by the end of the day my skin is starting to feel a little tight. It looks fine and it doesnt peel or flake, but it does have a dry feeling to it. I've always had very dry skin anyway, even before following Dan's regimen. But as you say, you arent able to reduce the BP applications because it just causes you to break out again.
I've not tried BP at night and AHA+ during the day, but I do wear the AHA+ over the top of BP at night. Thats what you do right? And sometimes I also place a layer of moisturiser over the top of BP & AHA+ (at night) if I feel like being particularly greasy that evening ;) The nights I do that, I can definitely tell in the morning because my skin is plumper and more hydrated.

Hmm...so I'm not entirely sure I've been any helpto you. In fact I'm pretty sure ive been absolutely no help at all. Oh dear! Posted Image

adding lots (6-8 drops) of jojoba oil to the moisturizer should help. Your face may look oily for an hour or two, but it will subside

Has anyone ever heard whether Dan has tried AHA in the morning-sans benzoyl peroxide-and continued the "normal" regimen at night? I have read his blogs and haven't seen anything, but do not know if I've just missed it. I'm afraid to try it and since his products/regimen are the only thing that has EVER worked for me (in 12 years) I trust his opinion. Mostly. : )

I stopped using his regimen as advised in the morning and suffered the worst acne break out in my life. It has left a nice amount of acne scars. In twelve years with awful acne before I started this regimen, I have never had a scar. I quit for a few months and I'm screwed. Body chemistry changes as time goes on. I found out the hard way. That is why I am afraid to stop doing it and try the AHA in the am. and then BP at night.
