Recently, I stopped using retin-a cream and bp in effort to allow my dry, flaky skin to heal, yet my skin still is incredibly dry. Even after 6 months of using no acne treatment, most of my face has chunks of dead skin with peeling. I have tried neutrogena moisturizers, but they break me out. I, also, have tried Dr. Murad skin repair lotion, which doesn't break me out, but it does not fix my dry skin either.

A few weeks ago, I tried not washing my face for 5 days to let my skin heal, but my skin was still dry and flaky.

Also, I tried rubbing all of the dead skin off with a washcloth, which dried out my skin even more, and within a week, my skin was back to where it started.

And, incase your wondering, exfoliators do not work for me. I have tried at least 3 different exfoliators, and all of them made my dry skin even worse. Exfoliaters make my dryness worse and greatly irritate my skin.

What should I do? Do any of you know a good moisturizer which won't clog my pores and cause me to break out, but will help my skin heal?

Thank you for your help!!!

I've been using Cetaphil for the last couple weeks with no complaints. Only thing is, if used during the day it can be slightly greasy. I usually pile it on at night, and use just a tiny bit during the day if needed.

I use Olay Complete UV moisturizer SPF 15, and it works great for day time. :)

La Roche Posay Toleriane Ultra is a moderate in between cream and lotion. Great for flakes, dryness and basically skin rehab. I use it daily in the winter or when my skin needs an extra boost. The Toleriane line from La Roche Posay is great for reactive skin. I also use the Fluide by them as well. Mostly as a day cream under makeup. Lighter in texture and moisture as the name implies. All are free of most chemicals that cause irritation, reaction, and acne. I have not had a problem with either of these at all. Rating my skin reactions and sensitivity on a scale from 1-10. I'd be an 11. I can definitely recommend. I purchase mine on line at the SkinStore.com, drugstore.com, or I believe they can be purchased at some Wal-greens or CVS.

Okay, so I ordered Cetaphil DailyAdvance Ultra Hydrating Lotion, and skinMD natural lotion off Amazon. I'm going to try them both and see how it goes. Does anyone else have experience with either of these products?

Thanks again!
