ok so a few weeks back i had alot of acne marks, and redness and over my cheek bones, including my nose area.. i thought maybe why not try to exfoliate with st.ives scrub so i did.. after i used it, my skin was very itchy, almost like someone ripped skin off my face.. reminds you of something? well when you burn your skin, it stings like heck and overtime, it repairs.. well same thing happened with me, 2 days later my skin was getting very tiny scabs.. i knew these were scabs by the look of it

ok here is the sick part.. the 3rd day the scab started falling and in a week my face was EXTREMELY soft and it was smooth and i mean smooth.. now i am using the scrub once a week because thats all i need, but recently my face has gotten quite red, but there arent any breakouts.. just face is really RED... (reason for this is because i used the scrub yesterday Posted Image

so i guess people that say you should exfoliate once in a while were right..

btw i dont put any mosturizer on my face.. because it doesnt get dry or that oily Posted Image

AND also this worked for me, but im not sure if it will work for other people.. keep in mind you dont want to overwork your skin, which i did in the beginning, and it was painful for a day

That is a chemical burn, you are correct, it is like a burn because it is a burn. I would advise you stop all use of that product, and allow your skin to go back to natural color.

It was physical because only my face had scabs

It actually is in the natural colors the problem is that sometimes i overwork my skin anf that will causr it to become red but later on it is white just sometimes that redness stays behind

You should allow your skin two to four weeks to heal - depending on how severely you are burning it. If you do not allow it to heal and you keep burning it, you will permanently scar and impair the skin. The color doesn't necessarily state "I am healed." Just my two cents...

Yes, I agree. Back when I was using products, I use to have like a dullish colored skin and my marks were irritated and dry, they never healed, they were always there. But once I quit using chemicals they healed up, glad I stopped because if I didn't I think they would have been permanently damaged, and thus probably scarred.

I used pretty much all soaps (for acne and not for acne), creams/topicals given to me by derm. I forgot the names, and pro-activ. I also tried dieting, vitamins, minerals, and nothing. This is when I approached if from a different angle. I used all those products from age 14-19, so for 5 years, however it was on and off for me. But soaps and other topicals dry my skin so much that I believe that is what really causes scarring, because you are altering the pore, and you basically have deeply blocked pores with dry top pores, so you get a constriction that blocks off the bottom and top of the pore. This is what creates scars, glad I stopped because I think I was almost on the verge of going down terribly the scar path.
