Cause a pimple popped in the shower (too rough) and the pus no doubt spread around.
I continued my routine as normal and put benzoyl peroxide on.
Would that kill the pus bacteria and save my face from a breakout?

My guess would be yes.

that depends on the pimple.
First of all, almost all (id say 90 %) of pus filled pimples "pop" before they go away. They either pop when they are ripe... or the pus sort of turns into this hard dead skin like scab and peels/falls off.
If it turns into a dead skin scab and peels off, than it won't cause new pimples. But if the pimple pops and all this liquid pus gets all over the place, than it might cause more acne.
just my experience
