True.

If you live your life unhappy, and choose to be unhappy, then that's usually how your life will be.

Yeah. It is true. It isn't easy. I do wish I had better genetics and that, I could hide my limitations better. Still, we need to make choices that better our life, and the time we get in life is very short. Any moments or even seconds spent wallowing in sadness or depressiong and limiting beliefs is a waste. I have did this and I do at dark times but, I do get past it and I continue to be a stronger person for it.

Thanks for the replies. I guess most people on this section disregard this because they'd rather self loath...

Mrjarjarbinks77, you might not have the best skin genetics, or anyone else would for that matter on this site... But I bet you have great genetic potential for other things in life that someone with flawless skin doesn't have. Maybe it's undiscovered yet too..

I think in this life from what I have learned (without being cheesy) is that it's open to everyone and you can actually do anything you want. (unless you're born in and live in Africa. Though I doubt anyone on this forum is?) Just a matter of "how much" are you willing to put the effort in..

I know when I had acne this was the mentality I used to achieve what I wanted. At the end of the day, it's skin. I get redness on my face that may be rosacea and people ask me "Why is your skin red in different places?" I don't let it bother me because I have other goals in life. Do y'all really wanna base your life success on how clear your skin is?? I bet 9 times out of 10 when people from this section finally do 'clear up', they will have other problems... Just like me, now I complain about how hairy I am! :P lol!

I know we're all different, but sometimes you gotta step outside the box and just think... Hopefully I didn't get anybodies panties in a twist with this reply.

Very true. By the same token, where acne is concerned, suffering is a choice. Sure, we can't always dictate what our bodies will do or how our skin will behave, but it's up to us how we respond to what it throws at us and it's down to us to actively work on being happy regrdless.

It interests me how there can be various divides amongst the members of the Org and it seems to depend on the approach one takes. For example, some people might only ever contribute to their own Accutane log while others might only go to the Holistic section. There's no right or wrong of course because, ultimately, everyone's just looking for answers.
Before I started clearing my skin, I knew I'd still have other things to work on and they're mostly subjects relevant to this section of the boards. Stupid thing is, by comparison, the acne has proven to be a lot easier to clear.

I'll admit that I struggle with the whole "emo" thing a great deal and that's no secret because I feel I can be open about it when I'm in here. Therefore, I try to process some of that and hopefully offer a positive helping hand to others along the way.
I've made some progress with the confidence and so on I think and it seems the trick is to learn how to shift the balance so that the focus is on life and happiness, regardless of acne or anything else we might perceive as being detrimental. Posted Image

I don't believe I am in control of my happyness, because I want to be happy but I can't find happyness because of my skin. And my skin determines my happyness...whenever I don't have any breakouts I'm happier but when my skin looks terrible I fall into deep depression, it's not something that I can control, it just happens.

The people that are always happy all the time probably never had anything bad happen to them and never have been rejected from society by being different or had people treat them unfairly.

i think it depends on the situation. like im sitting here typing on my new laptop complaining about my appearance and how boring my life is and just being a drama queen, while there are people out there being tortured, mutilated, starved, etc all against their will

As much as I like the quote, I don't like happiness because it's temporary. Am I happy when my skin clears? Of course. Am I happy when I have cysts? Not really. Sure, it's a good feeling while it lasts. Now... am I content that I have the ability to be out and about, receiving a good education and staying active, have supportive, humorous friends, and (not to mention) the opportunity to access this forum? Yea.

Life is only what you make it. The only thing you can control in life is your attitude, how you react to what happens around you.
