Hey Everyone...I'm a 32 year old mom of four girls. I've had bouts of acne off and on throughout my life beginning at around age 15. I know that most of my breakouts are hormone related. I had my fourth daughter in June 2011. She was 3 months premature, and I pumped breastmilk for her until 3 months ago.I think this is relevant to my face because of the timing of hormones changing being different from normal postpartum periods. This has thrown my whole body out of whack and I am just now starting to feel somewhat normal. This of course has led to another battle with acne. I used to treat my skin with vigor and lots of scrubbing. I found this site after growing tired of the same old stuff that made my face worse.(I've tried proactive, st. ives, clinique, acne free). I'm excited and hopeful that the regimen works. I'm also going in to see the DR. for possible increased androgens to see if BC will help. I have also noted an increase in corse dark hair on my face lately around my chin. I can only assume that hormone changes and excess baby weight is the culprit here. IN the mean time, I will do the regimen to see if I can help the symptoms subside.

I'd like to know what you all think. I just started the regimen a week ago using store products including Neutrogena on the spot. I found myself getting really annoyed with the BP balling up on me after putting on my moisturizer, and the BP drying up on me before I could finish putting it on really gently. I could only assume from my reading the info here on the site is that it was from using a cream based BP. So, I bought Dan's starter kit last night. My question is.... Should I start off using the same amount of BP for the week I am in on treatment, or start over because I am switching products?

Also, has anyone else had a break out at the end of week one? I mean... major breakout? I read through the typical results page on the site, and found that it said some people report their faces being worse so I am wondering about other peoples experiences. I noticed that the first two days seemed to be slight improvement, followed by 3 horrible days of breaking out. Those are starting to clear up. THANK GOD! Interested in what you all have to say1

Hi Jenn,

You definitely will love Dan's BP over the Neutrogena on the spot. I used use on the spot too, and HATED it with Dan's regimen. It did everything you said; dried too quickly, balled up with moisturizer, and left white streaks. Wait til you see how easily it is to apply Dan's BP. There's nothing else like it. I would suggest starting off slowly like recommended, because even though you're using the cream, I don't think you're getting quite as much absorbed as you would if you were using a gel. Especially since it's balling up when you apply moisturizer, I think you're losing some of the BP there. I also think Dan's BP is a lot stronger. Not in the percentage of BP, but more as a whole. Your skin might take a little bit to adjust to it, and I know from experience starting out too quickly is not fun. I never slowly ramped it up because I have been using BP since I was 12. (I'm 25 now) and I thought my face would be ready for it. No! =)
Also, your breakout is very normal. I broke out horribly for the first 2 months. It really took me til month 3-4 to stop breaking out a lot. I still break out even after 7 months, but not nearly like before. Just make sure you're extra gentle. and please do not exfoliate! It is going to be so tempting with the peeling but trust me, don't! =) Good luck to you!

Thanks! I'm really going to do everything I can to get clear and stay that way. I'm even giving up my makeup for the most part. I will still use eyeshadow and lip gloss.(no foundation, concealer, blush etc.) That is so hard for me as I am the girl who hasn't left the house without makeup on in about 15 years.
So, you think I should stick with the initial amount for another week of Dan's BP just to see how my skin reacts to it? And yes.... The bp balling up is so annoying because I don't want to rub to much to get the gunk off and I feel like its a waste of bp!!!! Thanks again!

Each of us wishes to have smooth and clear skin. Pimples and blackheads destroy this dream of smooth and clear skin. However, we start searching of remedies once we think things have gotten out of hand.

Acne treatment also might include taking some prescription drugs so that the chances of it recurring or becoming a severe type are diminished. www.fragrancex.com/search/_stext_Acne--Treatment__search_results.html

Severe or inflammatory acne means pimples are larger in size and are filled with pus. These can leave scars and are also painful in some cases. Severe conditions can leave permanent scars on the skin. Therefore, it is better that you do not allow it too reach this level.

Acne treatments for severe problems are long and complicated. Here the dermatologist does not have to only clean you face, it also requires mending it. He might also need you to go through surgery if you want toPosted ImagePosted Image get rid of the scars. Initially, for acne treatment of severe problems, you might consider compromising the taking of some oral medicines and cleansing of skin, surgery might come in quite later when the problem has been stopped totally and all that is required to be done is mending of the skin.

Yea I would start off slowly with Dan's. you could try using a little more each day if you feel ready enough, but be sure it's only a little bit more each day. you really don't have to go makeup free. I use Neutrogena skin clearing makeup just on my spots. I don't like to smear all over, i hate the way it feels. but I use that on my spots and a little powder because I get very oily. as long as your makeup is oil free and noncomedogenic, you should be fine. plus this brand has a little bit of salicylic acid and microclear technology, so it actually helps heal problems while you're covering them!
