Hi guys my name is Justin and i am 17 years old. Ive been struggling with acne for about five years and my friend recommended me Dan's regimen, especially the BP 2.5 Percent gel. Ive been using a salt water treatment for my face because the Acne.org BP treatment didnt work out for me, so i switched back and last night i switched back to the bp and. I applied a generous amount of it last night, and in the morning. I reapplied a generous amount and broke out horribly during the afternoon, i have six new zits on my chin, small zits. I have a combination skin, oily and sensitive. Here is my regimen: all purpose gentle cleasing wash, dans 2.5 bp, and cetaphil moisturizer.
Is the reason i broke out like crazy because of the fact i started with more bp than i was supposed to? Please help:(

Personally, I advise to get off of the bp for now and try something more gentle for your acne. I would cleanse and tone with hydrogen peroxide or lemon since those work really well with acne in my experience. You can dilute some of the lemon juice with water if it is too strong for your skin. Just make sure that with what I said or any acne medication that you apply a moisturizer with SPF 30 since HP, bp, and lemon juice will make your face sensitive to the sun.
You can also try changing your moisturizer to see if that is the culprit. I recommend Eurcerin everyday face lotion SPF 30. Doesn't break me out and you only need a half a pump for your whole face.
Hope thus helps

Something I have a habit of doing is trying to overcompensate when I have a big event coming up, and when I was 17 just about every day was a big event in my mind.
I'll give you an example. I had tickets to a concert a couple weeks ago, and wanted to look my best, so I started stressing over my minor blemishes. The first problem there is that stress agitates acne, making it worse. So I then try to overcompensate by using more product, more frequently and in too hefty a dosage in the hopes that I can just get my skin clear-ish for that one day. But that's not really how it works, all that does is succeed in irritating your skin.
I suppose what I'm trying to say is don't try and rush the process. Yes it's annoying to have a zit on your nose with a date coming up, but trying to overdo it will just make things worse. Slow and steady wins the race, even if that means occasionally having to look less than ideal.
It's a lesson we could both learn from.

eat nothing but salad minimal dressing and something light w/o dairy. and a type of beans and fruit and oatmeal for a week. I gurantee your skin will look better. Get a mild face wash like the grapefruit scrub. ONLY drink water and 8 liters of it a day. start off your day w/ two liters of water
