Thee omega 3's mega thread has like 160 some pages with no real anwser on this.

Currently taking this because out of those 160 pages (as well as a google serach) krill oil is suggested over plain old fish oil and it also contains a potent antioxidant as well.

http://www.amazon.co...s00_i00_details

as you can see the price is for lack of a better word, shit-highway robbery-But it works, for me. I take 1 not 2 a day. Though i can definitelly tell the affects of 2. But ive found that im SUPER hungry when taking 2. I would say i have super metabolism from what i can eat but doing cardio and other work out excerises only magnify that.

Onward,

So now its either again buy krill oil or go for 1) borage oil 2) flax seed oil 3(evening primrose i find most helpful for females according to what ive read)

Read this:
http://www.essortmen...fits-41778.html

"Flax Seed Oil contains omega-6 and omega-9 essential fatty acids, B vitamins, potassium, lecithin, magnesium, fiber, protein, and zinc and also provides approximately 50% more omega-3 oils than what you could get from taking fish oil"

Sounds good right? Well i already take other vitamins like zinc at night, i eat foods that have lots of b vitamins already but, taking b complex pills breaks me out. Someone said thats because b vitamins increase cell proliferation (increase in cell division/growth)

I dont believe in mega high doses of fish oil and one user c/o getting a liver tumor? I stay away from 2-3grams like other people.

Borage oil? I dont know. I buy my vitamins from swanson health because there close and cheap and work.

any ideas?

This is from the sellers site so its a biased review but the information is what im concerned about.

http://www.neptunekr.../properties.php

"Choline as precursor of acetylcholine

One gram of NKO contains 73 mg choline. The body uses choline to synthesize acetylcholine. Acetylcholine is important for sleeping comfort, good concentration and memory functioning."

-this i can relate to as i can fall asleep better than i have in almost a year.
-I do take ALC w/ b5 so this should help with that.

All i want to know is whether 60 soft gels at 20 bucks is really worth it? To me somewhat yes but i would in a heart beat go from something cheaper with same results. Although like i said flax seed oil looks good, is cheaper, and i do take CoQ10 twice a day so im thinking i dont need all this "super antioxidant power" that krill provides

edit
interesting peice of information i found and i love replying to my self as well lol

flax oil is probably the best source of omega 3, and fish oil is good as well (but often has mercury). But the trick with flax oil is it has to be the fresh-pressed variety that you buy in the fridge in the health food store, because otherwise it quickly deteriorates. Flax oil is damaged with light, heat and air, so you don't want to eat the capsules on the shelf--only the fresh (expiry date) variety in the fridge. Another trick is that your body does not properly absorb flax oil unless you mix it with a sulphur-based protein--either plain yogurt or cottage cheese. Then it works magic, and is actually known for curing many kinds of cancer, arthritis and heart disease--as well as being good for skin problems.

i dont care for yogurt and cottage cheese.. ive never tried. However both products are dairy which... i have been avoiding. Interesting tho. anyone willing to try?

another good read. well think i might have answered my own question but not sure yet. Krill oil still looks best, though costly and lower epa/dha values.

you guys dont help much. however i still will post info on this as im still deciding on what to get.

For right now flax seed oil is not a choice because of its poor absoprtion/conversion into EPA/DHA. Krill is still an option. Borage now that i need to do reading on. Plain old fish oil seems like a no unless its really good compared to what ive taken. I took fish oil once and got a bad back ache from it. Idk why. need the right stuff i guess.

It's not true that flax is only absorbed when you mix it with those things (dairy). I think those things are supposed to increase it's potency, but I'm living proof that flax absorbs on it's own. I've been dairy free for three years now and have continued flax and I get noticeable benefits from it. As soon as I start ingesting it regularly my skin starts to get a glow, my hair and nails grow fast, it's amazing. I have no interest in eating dairy again and the flax works so good on it's own, so... just wanted to counter that because it's one theory but there's plenty of evidence to show the awesomeness of flax minus the cottage cheese or yogurt.

There won't be problems with flax spoiling if you make it yourself at home. Never buy the pre extracted oils or pills, it's all bullshit, and way overpriced. Get the legit seeds. Soak them overnight in water, then grind them to a gooey paste in a blender. This is the absolute best way to ingest flax, as the soaking and sprouting process increases the nutrition and breaks down the enzyme inhibitors:

Personally I've had far greater results with fresh, raw flax than with any of the bottled fish oils... you never know how old that crap is. Yuck.
