So i've been using the cetaphil gentle facial cleanser for over a month or two now. it hasnt really been helping me with in terms of my acne. i feel like it just sits on my face rather then penatrating the acne. i've also used burt's bees soap bark & chamomile deep clenasing cream but it has menthol in it and makes me face feel weird after using.

I think almost all dermatologists will recommend Cetaphil, I also use it. But yes it doesn't have acne-fighting ingredients. That isn't what it's meant for though, just remember that.
Maybe try a Clean and Clear Deep wash at night, and Cetaphil in the morning?
Look for salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide (watch out if you have sensitive skin!)

I use Lumiplexion cleanser, but Dan's cleanser is another good choice.
What I like about Lumiplexion over Dan's is that it is thicker and there are four formulas available (mild, normal, balancing, ex strength). I use normal, and I have one daughter with very oily skin who uses ex strength and one daughter with very sensitive skin who uses mild. The cleanser is $22 but it is VERY concentrated. Use a dime size amount for good lather and it will last you about 4 months.
Dan's cleanser would be my second choice. It has a runny consistency and you need to use about a quarter size, but it lathers well (almost like bubbles more than lathers lol).

I like using UMF 16+ manuka honey as a cleanser, it' by far the best thing I've ever used as a cleanser. Before I went on accutane I used to like The Soap Works creamy clay soap, but it's too drying to use on my extremely sensitive skin now. I also used to really love Korres brand White Tea Facial Fluid Cleansing Gel, but gave that up along with all other chemicals. For chemical free the manuka honey is perfect.

Hi
I would recommend you try Olay's Foaming Facial Cleanser (the one for sensitive skin!!!). It's oil, soap and fragrance free, which is perfect for acne prone skin, because you want to be as gentle as possible. Also CeraVe's Foaming Cleanser is great:) I use those two...I wouldn't suggest you try one with SA or BP because they don't have an effect on the skin because they stay on the skin for a very short time only, and if it gets into your eyes it will really irritate them!!! Good luck
