I have been struggling with acne for four straight years. I've tried EVERYTHING and nothing ever seemed to work. I'm almost 19 now and am proud to say that I have cleared my acne. It feels too good to be true. I used to have breakouts and hyperpigmentation all over my cheeks, chin, jawline, and forehead. I was always self conscious and hiding my face and not doing the things I wanted to do because I hated my skin so much and felt so ugly. In the last 6 months I got rid of all my acne and scarring with this regimen:
Morning: Wash face with Cera Ve Hydrating Cleanser, wipe face with Witch Hazel, apply Murad Vitamin C moisturizer and Estee Lauder Idealist Serum
Night: Wash face with Cera Ve Hydrating Cleanser, wipe face with Witch Hazel, apply Neostrata 4% Hydroquinone Gel, apply Tazorac .01%
My skin type: Oily/combination
I think the biggest thing to help me was the cream my dermatologist prescribed, Tazorac. It made my skin peel like crazy and I couldn't stand to leave the house, but it worked. You just have to endure the flaky peely skin. The Witch Hazel healed my skin amazingly and just disinfected it and calmed irritation. It was amazing. It also made my skin feel really clean. The Estee Lauder Idealist was a lifesaver when to came to my hyperpigmentation. I also used a product of theirs called Night Repair that was really good too. I haven't been using the hydroquinone for too long, only about a month, but I have nothing but positive things to say about it. I think it works amazingly.
Another thing. You NEED to sleep! Sleeping helped my skin immensely. And drinking lots of water.
