Has anyone had success with vitamin b5 in small doses such as just 500mg or 1g a day? I don't want to start taking 10g a day. I mostly just got it for oily skin and some pimples.

i would say that it should help with oil even at 1g a day. let me know how it goes because i was thinking of picking up some myself and did not want to mega dose.

i was taking 2g a day for 3 weeks with no oil reduction. moved up to 10g for 1 month and noticed about 70% less oil.

i actually started taking b5 along with L-carnitine (ALC actually) today. My b5 dose is 500mg and my ALC is 500mg. I took 2 today only because i took an extremely long walk tonight (5miles) and i needed the extra energy i figured. ALC is used to help produce energy for the body by burning fats i think. i read that stuff on the vegetable juice thread couple days ago.
b5 in its self is not going to help unless you mega dose which i advise not to and if your only main problem is excess oil. for me i think its gonna help in terms of reducing oil and preventing the acne i usually get which is the nodular kind that fill with oil.
I exercise and take other supplements (newer ones than in sig) and also eat lots of greens, fruits, no dairy, limited cheese. this, this helps. so dont rely alot on b5 unless you do like me or your just that lucky.
