Has anyone here used a skin primer (to help makeup stay on longer) and had it cause cysts?

I used a makeup primer last week and about a day after using it my chin (which is my usual acne area but also the place I used the primer) began breaking out in huge cysts, there still coming now even though it was a week ago but I don't usually get cysts so I'm very confused. Has anyone had similar experiences?

Hm i'm always skeptical of primer b/c of the clogging of pores and such; especially for already acne prone skin. I found a beauty secret online a while ago that can act as a primer AND really control your oil throughout the day (it works, trust me!). Go to your local drugstore and find a bottle of mik thistle. Apply with a cotton ball on your face. It might make leave white visible residue on your face after but that can be fixed by just wiping it down some more i highly reccommend this, and its really cheap. Good luck!

I never use primer for the same reason. Our school hosts a grad Christmas banquet, and I wanted my makeup to last through the night. I used a primer (borrowed from my makeup addicted sister ) and found that I broke out in little red bumps after using it. I also didn't notice a huge difference in how long my makeup lasted. I think that if your makeup looks good without primer, you should try and go without it, especially if it causes breakouts.

I wear primer everyday and don't see any increased acne from it. The foundation over it is probably more suffocating. I use it because it really really helps application of my liquid makeup.

You can find silicone free primers though, which might help. Sephora will have some for like 20-25$ compared to the 10-15$ OTC primers.
