Does anyone have them? My acne has started leaving hypo scars which are a murder to get rid of. I heard you cannot get rid of these but you can make them appear better. Has anyone had experience of these? Surely I am not the only one?

I only experienced hypopigmentation only once.
I cut my finger when i was 3.
It was quite deep, and the white scar still remains today.

Acne hypopigmentation may be different.
I'm not sure at all.

okay, i think i'll actually be able to help you out on this!
so, i had a small, but cystic pimple, on my upper cheek. i left it alone for about 3 days, and then i just couldn't stand it, so i popped it. i ended up bruising my face because of the pressure i applied, and there was a big red bruise for a day. then it scabbed up, and a couple of days later, the scab fell off on its own, but the skin underneath it was still very pink. this happened less than a week ago. i was so upset that i might have a huge pink scar on my cheek. i know it's not white, like what you're describing, but it still lacked pigment, so i guess it could be classified as hypopigmentation.
anyway, desperate for a cure, i used Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula. Thankfully i had a tub of it around the house because i have used it for my stretch marks in the past(which, by the way, works great!), so i still have a little bit left. i've been massaging the pink area with cocoa butter a few times a day, and that's it. it's already starting to blend in super well, and i think within a few more weeks it'll be gone.

so i would give it a try if i were you. and one big tub is like $3 at any drugstore, so you really have nothing to lose. good luck!

Thanks for the replies! Well my scars are not fresh they have been on my skin for about a year. There is about two on my lower cheek. They started off pink as you have mentioned but they ended up a faint white. I shall try the Cocoa butter formula for these scars. Have you heard of using ginger root? Its what I have been using and it seems (don't quote me on that) to have helped a little. Might just be my imagination.

I have a white spot from a nodule I had about two years ago. Its still there...I have no idea how to get rid of it, if you find out let me know. It started as a brown mark, then turned white. weird.

Bump

No I still havent got rid of these things! Theyre really making me depressed because theya re not fading like normal brown marks. Since posting i have got two mor hypogimented scars on my cheeks. Argh! So annoying!

Anyway i am going to try ginger root for 6 months and see if that changes them. If not then I think I have to look into possible laser surgery like V-tar.

Has anyone been successful in repigmenting these marks?

I had a white spot like that before and then discovered SHEA BUTTER! it's 100% natural and is actually more effective than cocoa butter which i've also tried. You can get it at Vitamin Shoppe or any natural remedy store. I got mine at a flea market vendor for only 3 bucks. Its a bright yellow color or a white cream type color. Make sure if you do get it that it's 100% natual and has no added fragrances or anything else. It'll have an earthy smokey type smell to it. I put this on my scar twice a day for 2 weeks straight and it looks like the scar was never there to begin with! Highly recommend it. Its also good for moisturizing rough dry areas and chapped lips.
