Id like to say hello to all and introduce myself and my problems lol.
I originally visited this site 2 1/2 years ago and started using BP then. It helped with the acne, but I still had mild-mod acne. I thought nothing of my acne at first, as I had never really had it before and was optimistic it was going to go away with time. Well, around 2+ months ago, I noticed peoples eyes gravitating from my eyes to my cheeks. I made a Derm appt shortly after. The 1st Derm told me I had hormonal acne and mild rosacea. She wanted to put me on spirolactone and some oral anitbiotic. I prefer Rx pills as a last result and got a 2nd opinion from another Derm. The 2nd Derm put me on Tretinoin & Clindamycin Lotion 1%.
At first like a fool, I got Tretinoin Happy and applied it daily in too much amount..daily. So much for gettting rid of acne in 3weeks!! Im sure you know the consequences I served lol.
I went for my follow up recently and complained about the sudden red inflamed looking "things" Im getting on my jawline/neck (areas I never had acne before nor put the medication.) Of course my whole face looks stained red/pink. She prescribed FInacea, which Im using in the a.m. now. I had cut down drastically on the tretinoin even before seeing the doctor for the follow-up. I have as of late, been applying 1/4 of a pea size every other night. As far as the acne I was getting, wow yes it has drastically changed. I can actually see all the hyper-pigmentation marks left behind. For now, Im dealing mostly with the irriated red bumps(not really sure what to call them lol) I am however experiencing other negative effects which is making me think about switching off tretinoin. But, I am trying to give it the chance I hear it deserves.
This is it so far. Hoping to have an acne free life again in the future. So, Im here to join the acne fight lol. It doesnt have a chance, right? just say yes and make me feel better:)
