So i've been using MAC Studiofix for almost two years now, I really like the coverage it offers and i find it goes on smoothly and is easy to blend. Unfortunately, I've finally accepted the fact that it probably has something to do with my persistent acne. I went and tried out the Bare Minerals stuff they offer, but I found that my skin was too dry for a powder (something i'm working on...). I have a pretty oily t-zone and then very dry in other places.. If anyone has any opinions on MAC studiofix or recommendations for me I would greatly appreciate them!
Thanks!

DO NOT USE MAC FOUNDATIONS! There is no doubt in my mind that Studio Fix is causing you to breakout. I've had even MAC makeup artists tell me that their foundations, powders and blushes cause breakouts.
I think mineral makeup (with very few exceptions) is completely over-rated and are much better for perfectly even complexions (uneven distribution of oil can cause some areas to look darker than others and they way most of them are formulated makes it so it only amplifies dryness and the appearance of rough skin).

Studio Fix covers really well... but it made me break out as well.
I have mostly oily skin with a few dry patches in the winter which I use moisturizer on before applying mineral makeup. I don't like the thought of liquid makeup anymore... I used to use Estee Lauder ... but now it just feels heavy and mask-like. Because of the rave reviews, I tried the Makeup Forever HD... but I wasn't impressed and thought it was overpriced. I LOVE the feel of mineral makeup which is very light. It doesn't make me break out either... and you can get the EXACT color match for you skin.

Am I the only one who can wear Studio Fix Fluid without breaking out?

Mac studio fix is a well known brand in cosmetics industry.
The temporary effects of the foundation are good, its good coverage and blends well.
Acne is caused by several factors including poor nutrition, hormonal imbalances, environmental toxins and stress. I guess it all depends on the individual.I use an entire range of MAC without any breakouts. I also think it looks very natural, not "made up." Make-up is all about personal preference and everyone's skin reacts differently to it.#7

I've used MAC Studio Fix since I was in middle school and never experienced outbreaks from it. Like the poster above said, it all depends on the individual; if Studio Fix made EVERYONE break out, it wouldn't be as popular as it is. That being said, I really like the coverage it offers and how it blends into my skin well. Sometimes it can be too cakey, but I will never stop using Studio Fix!

BareMinerals does work if used correctly. Sure it dries out skin but your skin should always be exfoliated and moisturized (even if you have oily skin). Moisturizing even a little is important because it fools your skin into producing less oil. You could also try using a primer (though I find some cause breakouts). I wouldn't worry about your oily t-zone because the mineral veil seeps it up and can be reapplied over the foundation if needed. Plus, there are no irritants in most mineral make ups. When I had moderate acne BareMinerals helped to conceal it (many people didn't realize my whole forehead was covered with pimples) and help improve skin tone. Plus, the sunscreen is great for avoiding hyper pigmentation.

I use the powder as apposed to the fluid and I've never noticed any difference in my skin when using it. I love the coverage it gives just to finish off your makeup on a night out or on its own and a tiny bit of Dermablend for my chin area pretty much has me sorted.
