Help me out here. A woman at the age of 23, I thought this would be over. For the past month however, my chin has had a horrible break out. I try to be patient with it, but it seems after one finally heals.. Another appears next by. They're large, white heads and I'm not going down without a fight.

The rest of my face for the most part is clear. Once and awhile I get a spot elsewhere, but the focus seems to be on my chin.

I wash my face with Cetaphil every morning and night, apply sodium sulfacetamide and sulfur lotion (dermatologist prescripted), and then put Olay Complete all day UV moisturizer. I am working on up-ing my water intake, but have had a 'drink' diet of tea and coffee for awhile - I find it hard to believe that would be causing it. I also don't eat much in the way of desserts, and don't eat pizza more then once or twice a month.

Suggestions?

Lol pizza and desserts aren't the only thing that cause acne. And you say you still eat it?!

Coffe is probably the main reason you could be breaking out as a matter of fact. And if you think all you have to avoid is pizza, and dessert, then your diet is probably farrr beyond healthy.
You probably think oatmeal and whole wheat bread is healthy, right? Think again....I used to be just like you until I found out all the topicals (which make the condition worse) and food I was eating are the main reasons for my bad skin.

It's not neccessary to wash your face so much, especially with yout face wash, because it will eventually strip away the protective oil your skin naturally has that protects you from the environment. Also, washing your face to much doesn't 'get rid of dirt' like most people think, it can actually make your skin more prone to bacteria. Remember, it's the oil in your skin that PROTECTS you from this bacteria from the environment, you don't need to wash it away. I recommend oil cleansing if you wear makeup, or just slash your face with cold water occationally.

Firstly, the lotion you got from the derm is actually a really good product, so I'd stick with that for a while at least. I've always been a big fan of sulfur treatments as opposed to BP. I'd maybe try using a medicated wash at night, and try switching your moisturizer to something else maybe. I've had bad experiences with moisturizer breakouts. Try something aloe based with as few ingridients as possible.

I do think I am going to stop using that moisturizer for awhile, and see what happens. Just find it odd that the breakouts are happening on just my chin where the rest of my face, where I do use the lotion, there's nothing.
