I've never had a facial before, mostly because I hate ANYONE touching my face especially my chin where I have all my stupid breakouts and nodules.

I got a gift certificate for xmas and on Friday I went for my first one. It was a vegan/organic facial done at a spa.

I made sure she was very very gentle especially with my chin (I had a nodule/cyst/papule at the time)

It did feel nice and she used a mud or clay mask which I guess draws out impurities?

My skin felt great and was glowing and fresh looking and interestingly enough the next day by nodule/papule thing came to a head...

Does anyone else go to get facials? How often?

Thanks!

i ve had similar : microdermabrasions and one facial. I say if you felt like it worked then go for it!
one word of advice, mine did extractions and I did not like it think it caused scarring so just say no if they ever offer...

I had my first facial last week because I was freaking out over a new painful red thing forming on my poor chin. I had just gotten over two awful ones the week before and was so depressed that another one was coming up. Had to do something. My facial was very soothing. I talked through the whole thing (...wanting to share my dispair with someone...). Next time I plan to be quiet and enjoy. I've always thought I was dealing with horrid cystic acne but she said I wasn't...that it was just acne. Hearing this was very comforting somehow. She put warm towels on my face and gently massaged it with a clarisonic thing designed for acne. She put several different solutions on the skin and massaged them in. She put something on my skin that stung and took it right off when I told her it was stinging. My skin looked better. She recommended a whole line of product that I bought out of desperation. Got home and tried it for two days but will take it back...just not as good as my own regime (cleanser has some salicylic acid in - a big no no for my skin, the powder went on funny, etc.). She also recommended using witch hazel as a toner. I tried this for two days but I think the alcohol in it does not work well with the tretinoin cream. My skin is too sensitive. The thing on my chin came to a head the next day. Still dealing with the after effects of that...you know how it is...

I never had a facial. But from what i hear/read, facials are relaxation and the experience.
They wont really help with any skin problems.

the micropeels were at something like a medical spa they have facials to botox to chem peels and so on... I am paying 90$ a treatment it is 40% salicidic acid done by an aethetician...and your whole face peels..my second one is tomorrow and i love it love it....

it helps with scars and active zits, jsut had one yesterday and it is bad asss...excuse my language:) I am not red today at all except the zits themselves peeling lasts 3-4 days? The first time was a much bigger peel this time is much more mild ..I think your face, as it gets better, peels less and less...it is not scary the first time was like a bad sunburn type of peel and this time is like how i peel from too much retin-A

i have had a facial with extractions done a few months ago and it was fantastic. the lady that did the facial was from europe and she really knew what she was doing. she spent about 20 minutes extracting what felt like every pore on my face and when i left i couldnt even tell she had done anything except that my skin looked so much better. i need to go back for another one but definitley the best thing i have ever done.
