So my acne cleared up a few weeks ago after 5 months of depressive embarassment. I woke up today and I broke out again. I cried for the first time in a long long time. I was using Tea Tree Oil (and have used about EVERYTHING else) but I have finally given up on it.
I am headed towards BP. I haven't tried it yet and have nothing to lose.
I ordered the proactiv kit, but I am a bit worried about the cleanser.
Is exfoliation good in a cleanser? I don't want to irritate my face or make it super red.
Thanks guys.
Exfoliating Medicated Cleanser Or Non-Exfoliating?

Hey TomWantsHelp,
First of all, hang on there buddy! I'm going through a rough time too. You are not alone!
Next regarding about the exfoliating beads in the cleanser. I have never tried that particular brand before however other exfoliating products did cause my face to become slightly red after washing. What I have read is exfoliating beads/particles would cause some form of irritation to the skin especially on the pimples. If I were you I’d probably use a much gentle cleanser.
But then again, everyone has different types of skin. I might find it harsh and irritating while others might feel that it’s a good product. It is all up to the individual. Trial and error I would say.
Good luck!

It depends on the type of exfoliation, but some can be quite rough and even tear your skin microscopically. I would say to use very little of the product to begin with, to gain an indication of how the product will do on your face.
