I'm really curious why things work whilst taking them and dont work once finished. i dont really mean like..well of course if youre taking zinc..then stop = your body now has less zinc to work with.i
mean like if youre using herbs to 'heal' or alter hormones etc. actually for example using natural foods etc to alter hormones, why cant you just alter them and for them to stay like that? its like all pills that alter hormones, once you go off them everything goes back to the way it was because youre not affecting the hormones with different pills. but your hormones went out of whack some way and are staying like that but clearly thats not normal but the out of whack hormones are fluctuating back and forth from in balance to out of balance, theyre just staying out of balance. why cant you alter them like a once off thing and get them back to normal like the way we were before they went out of whack? it seems so odd how they can be so stubborn to to go back in balance after getting out of balance, as mentioned in another post, the body is such a healing machine, why do some people go to extreme lengths and i mean extreme to get rid of acne but it wont budge. if acne is a symptom, and that person is literally doing all the right things why it has to be so stubborn and not improve? those people on the adult board who are still battling but doing all the right things and their hormones just arent balancing.

for example you can take birth control which might cause acne or it might get rid of it. but if it gets rid of it it will come back when you go off the pill. I understand its because your not taking it but i suppose i wonder why you cant take it so it alters the hormones and why once altered the hormones dont just stay like that considering a lot of people can go off and on the pill without affect. like myself i was on the pill around 16 and i switced i think 2 times over the course of 2 years, 3 years of clear skin on the pill then all of a sudden out of no where i got bad acne. the pill however has never affected me. even now, i dont get headaches/moody/cramps. and im on diane (and even that didnt clear me obviously). but the point is, when i first went on the pill my hormones were altered and no affect, then changed, altered with no affect then i just stayed on that one and like 6 months later i get acne, then i go on diane and really that didnt clear me because i know spiro did (still have acne now off spiro). my acne goes along with my period and stays around my lower cheeks, mouth, jaw and chin. should i have had acne years ago if altering hormones was the cause? i mean i dont even know the cause but if spiro helped that helps me realise its not an allergic type thing.
anyways perhaps thats more of a wish haha. i dont think im really eplaining myself. i guess things like herbs, you basically always have to have them, for example im taking herbs for my liver, skin, digestion and stress. its been 5 months 2x a day and i dont feel or look any different so i suppose they dont work. im just curious besides the obvious "becuase you stopped taking it" why things just dont stay the same. kinda like you rip a piece of paper, you cant reverse that. all pills are so temporary even vitamins, is there a reason why the body doesnt take the altering and keep it and why it constantly needs more and more of something to keep producing the effect? again im not saying things like viatmins because they get used up or end up in the toilet but i mean like actual things that have a specific purpose, like as mentioned the skin herbs. the purpose is to help my skin but it hasnt helped my skin and even if it did help i know i'd have to keep taking it. cant it just help my skin almost like dying your hair permanetly. the colour will last for years with just one dying, you dont have to dye it every day type thing. sorry bad explains i just suck at explaining things.
i suppose what im trying to say is im curious why theres so many things that are dead set for certain things but doesnt have the same affect on all people. for example vitamins and herbs. spesh. herbs. theres a huge amount of info of how great herbs are, but even though im taking a few liquid herbs that are the top for skin - my skin hasnt changed as mentioned. i suppose i wonder why this herb is proved to affect skin but not mine? thats kinda like taking drugs and being the only one it doesnt affect, weak or strong either way youre going to feel something. im just curious why things dont really work when they are known for such affects in humans. but not all, i know we're all different but thats like saying only a certain makeup of genes will get affected by skin herbs enough to notice a difference.

sorry for the ramble. just full of questions and concerns and wonderings and everyone here is so insightful i cant help but blurt out a bunch of words that have my mind in a knott. thankyou in advance, i hope someone has something interesting to add :)

also might mention for example how much vitamins etc stop working randomly? people also have noted taking a birth control that has cleared their skin has stopped clearing their skin (obviously they are still protected though for the main reason of taking bc) so the pill is still working by working as a contraception but the side effects (like clearing a face) has now stopped doing so..what happens in that situation? sorry im so confusing :/

Because, if you didn't do anything to heal the situation, you only temporarily medicated it. And therefore, the problem returns when you go off the "medicine"....

Things don't stop working when you find the right thing to really heal. But of course you can't go back to your unhealthy diet and lifestyle and remain healed. Healing is a committment, you make the changes and you keep them for the rest of your life.

Birth control only alters the hormones in your body because they are hormones. They aren't altering what your body makes, they are adding to it.

The way to 'alter' how your body functions is to eat right so it can function.

i suppose im just curious why your hormone can go out of balance , i'd say rather easily because millions of people have that problem and no ones perfect, and then some people can try every last thing to get them back the way they were and nothing changes them. people with obvious hormonal issues that is so they know thats their problem type thing. this is probably not even a question actually just comments now i think of it, i suppose im wishing it would be much much easier to get hormones back into balance when eating right/sleeping/exercising..all those wonderful things. i suppose as my own example its definitely nearly been 6 months for me and my face is still a disaster, im under the impression these changes arent powerful enough to actually change my hormones back to the way they were so i dont have acne anymore :/

1. They didn't work in the first place and you experienced a placebo effect.
2. They work, but not in a noticeable way. Or what you might be taking might not be in a therapeutic strength.
3. You received the maximum benefit from them.
4. Varying dosage cause varying effects. Sufficient Vitamin A is necessary for cellular function and healthy skin. Too much vitamin A will kill you.
5. The way they interact with other substances in the body or external may negate their effects.
6. Some substances are fat-soluble and you will only receive the full benefit if you take it with a form of fat. Other substances are water-soluble. Others are soluble in acetic acid. Depending on what you take, when you take it, what you take it with, the source of what you take, your gender, your ethnicity, your genetics, etc. it affects these things.
7. You get the point. That's why I rotate supplements.
(Many bodybuilders who use anabolic steroids find that they have to cycle and rotate around the particular steroid they use otherwise their body gets used to it and won't produce benefits, in addition to causing their body to cease hormonal production.)
