Hello fellow acne suffers, my name is Melissa i have been dealing with acne for about 4 years now. I have always had a pimple here and there but at the end of 9th grade is when it really got bad i started getting them everywhere on my face! it was seriously the worst thing that could of ever happened to me and the stress of school did not help one bit! i started getting really depressed and actually dropped out of high school because i just could not emotionally deal with it. i thought people were starring, when they weren't. i'm sure some people who will read this will think "thats crazy" but people who suffer from ACNE i'm sure knows this feeling and what acne can do to not only your self confidence but even to your mental health, and personality. i think i am finally ready to FIGHT this acne and not let it keep me down anymore! if anything has worked for you guy please let me know Posted Image i am willing to try anything

&good luck to everyone dealing with the same thing! i will send good vibes your way =)

Hi Melissa, welcome aboard! Posted Image

I can certainly relate to the impact that acne can have on personality and indeed on mental health. It was only after experiencing those things that I realised how important it is to fight it, stay positive and try your best to carry on with things regardless. The severity of the acne doesn't have to come into play either because even the mildest form could be enough to knock a persons confidence and damage their self-esteem. The biggest thing to recognise there is that any issues regarding confidence and so on could still be around even after you clear your acne, so it's important to work on those now and try your best to carry on, live your life and create opportunities for yourself. Don't let your skin run things because it doesn't deserve to be given that power and it doesn't define who you are.

In terms of practical steps to clear your acne, what you try now depends on what you've tried previously. What do you currently do to take care of your skin? What approaches/medications have you tried? Some people go almost exclusively down the topical/antibiotic route while others prefer a more holistic approach, focusing on things like diet. Personally, what worked for me was a combination of the two. It's all trial and error really and can take a little while. What works for one might not work so well for another because we're all different, but whatever we do try which doesn't quite work, theoretically, brings us closer to the thing that does.
