Hello all,
I had a severe case of cystic acne on my back during my teen years and battled it with retin-a and duac gel. I personally think the retin-a did more harm (burned my skin off) then good, and I still have scars til this day that are difficult to describe. I've posted a few pictures and circled the areas where the scar is most prominent.
As for a description of the scar; it feel very soft, doesn't feel like skin. I feel like small areas on my upper back were burned off by the retin a. The scars are also indented like a crater. It feels and looks like scar tissue.
Any suggestions on how to fix this? And has anybody ever experienced this type of scarring? Thanks.

Thank you for your reply.
However, I must add that isn't just hyperpigmentation. The scar itself feels sort of fleshy and soft. And are indented. It feels as if the skin has been damaged by a combination of topical gels (burning) and picking at the cysts. The pictures were taken using an iPhone and really don't do justice. They fail to illustrate the severity of the scars.
