Hello all, new to the forum. I've never had this problem before, but it's becoming a huge issue: Dry, red flaky skin brought on by this near-freezing Ohio winter.

To make matters worse, the heater blows in my apartment w/o many open windows to let it flow through. So far I've bought a humidifier to use while sleeping at night and use the following creams: Sarna (anti-itch lotion), Gold Bond Ultimate and Clean & Clear moisturizer (which I've been using after showers for years).

Is there anything else I can try to use? I don't think I'll make it another 3 months in this weather. Thanks!

You might want to rethink your moisturizer. Even if you've been using it for years, your skin gets older and needs more TLC. I love Dr. Dennis Gross's Active Vitamin-D serum. And as for a basic moisturizer you'd probably do well Garnier Fructis or Aveeno.
