So I finally started taking accutane 4 days ago. My derm warned me of the initial breakout but I didn't think it would be so bad, so soon. He said to stop using all other medications but I really want to do something about it. Is there anything I could do? Would it be safe to keep using BP? My skin hasn't dried out yet.
Just When I Thought It Couldn't Get Any Worse...

if he told you not to use anything than you should listen.
the initial breakout is bad alot of people post that its pretty intense but by the time your session is over all the acne will be gone. unfortunately you are going to have to stick it out now that you already started.
Good luck!

I didn't take any medications while I was on accutane treatment. I think your derm is right, if you take like another medications, it will interfere the efficacy (efectiveness of the accutane) and who knows that it won't work because there is another drugs interfering the accutane pathway? Beware of the dryness. mine is especially on the neck.

I hate to say this but like the others stated, you'll just have to wait it out.
Do something to make yourself feel good in the mean time... Hang out with friends/family, go to the movies, workout, get a massage, take a mini vacation, walk in the park...
