I'm 25, I've had acne for about 10 years, mild to moderate. I tried various schemes such as Dan's regimen (which I found moderately successful except it made my blackheads bigger) to the oil cleansing method.

For the last year I've used paula's choice salicylic acid 2% liquid which I quite like. I find it makes my skin less likely to get inflamed, and blackheads seem to come out easier. Nonetheless, there were always a few pimples appearing most days.

I'm an outdoor enthusiast and noticed every time I came back from a trip a week long or so, even without washing my face or using any products for that period, my skin would be as clear as ever. If there were any pimples they were mature ones which popped easily to heal within a day or so. I've also noticed in times past when attempting and failing to pop a inflamed spot it usually results in a much worse pimple than if it were left alone.

Of course, we all know it is important not to aggravate our acne by touching our faces, but I was so used to the habit I couldn't avoid it. So, 2 weeks ago, I removed my bathroom mirror and placed it at floor level against the wall. I am no longer tempted to inspect my face and squeeze immature pimples every time I am in and out of the bathroom. I have found this to be more effective than any product I have used. Before work or heading out to socialize I will glance in the mirror to pop any mature pimples, but since it's on the floor I am not tempted to hang out too long prodding every blackhead or sebaceous filament as before.

Hope this helps somebody else break the habit.

LOL ever think that maybe if you just fought the fact of not touching your face at all and not washing at all(seems how not washing helped you) that this could be your cure for acne?

the acid mantle heals bacteria on the face naturally when its not interrupted!

glad you found youre cure! nice job!!
