Hello everyone

I have been bored all day, so I figured I'd post something on here... Don't really see the point of this thread, and I don't expect any answears, but I just need to vent. So here I go.

I used to be the funny, happy and very attractive person... But then I eventually ended up with acne, and my confidence suffered. From then on, it kept getting worse. It transformed me into a very insecure and sad person. I have been on accutane for 3 months and my face is looking pretty good right now, so that is great! However... My confidence is still the same, and I have a hard time making new friends. Actually I haven't made any at all at my new school due to the fact that I have lost my social skills...

Does anyone have any tips on how to get my confidense back? - Don't tell me to go and talk to people, because I do as best as I can.

i Know exactly how you feel...i used to have moderate - severe acne now i mearly have light acne. Yet the social awkwardness that ive created because of my acne never left. I found it near immpossible to meet/talk to people without looking like a complete idiot. However within the last few weeks i have become so much more confident then i ever have been in my life. I got this confident because of my freind... his name is mike. Mike has always had acne worse then mine but he never gave it a second thought. He went to all the parties, Always had a girlfreind and such and such. The point is if he can be confident with acne much worse then mine then i should easily be able to be confident!....So i took up like 3 different sports and have poured most of my life into them. And i dont know why but it just makes me feel manlier and tougher Posted Image and after that i just started making more freinds and stuff.

Sorry im not really good at helping people i just try my bestPosted Image

Learn an instrument, learn a second language, and/or take up yoga, pilates, some form of dance, or kickboxing. You could also join a local theatre group or take a public speaking class. Or you could start volunteering at homeless shelters or animal rescues. You could also get a dog, and as soon as you get a dog, get him/her into obedience training (the dog training builds confidence for you as well as the dog. And a well behaved dog can be taken more places. And people seem to always want to talk to people with dogs so it forces you to interact socially.) Also, stand up straight. You'd be amazed how much changes with proper posture.

Great advice from poi6 and Lola there - all you can do is try your best and try to get involved in things so that you're out there and enjoying life as best you can. Even if you don't feel especially confident, fake it 'til you make it. It's all about perception so if you're holding your head up and smiling at people, appearing confident, they won't be wise to how you might actually be feeling. Rather, they'll notice that confidence and that's an appealing trait, regardless of what your skin's doing. Posted Image
