Hi
In a few weeks I will move to Montpellier, France... I am from the US and have spent over 2.5 years trying to get Accutane prescribed by my doctor. He wanted me to try lots of lifestyle changes and medication changes first - which I was glad to do as I know that Accutane is just a last resort and if something else can work for me I would much prefer that. But, now that I have tried every medication he has given me and every new diet/exercise plan he has suggested to me with nothing working he has agreed that yes, I need to go on Accutane.
But now that I am moving to France I cannot get Accutane from him since I only have 4 weeks left in the US.

Does anyone know if I will be able to get Accutane in France? Is it terribly hard to get it prescribed? After waiting 2.5 years, I really don't want to wait any longer. It's been so horrible for so long that I really just want my self-confidence back. Does anyone have any advice for me as to how to go about getting an Accutane prescription in France?

Thank you so much. I really appreciate it :)

i dont think its very hard to get it prescribed in europe. Seems a bi more relaxed there, I have relatives in france who took it. 3 siblings, two had bad acne and one took it just to make sure she didn't get bad acne. Really....the only place that is so uptight about prescribing accutane is the US, even where I am, in Canada all my docs were the ones trying to push me to get accutane. Wish I had listened to them and skipped out on the antibiotic. Honestly I think that antibiotics are extremely harmful, and not necessarily a 'safer route'

Yeah, I'm not from France, but I do live in Europe and you just have to get a derms prescription.
And we don't have that whole thing women have to go through to make sure nobody's pregnant.

Thanks a lot! I'm so relieved! I was worried I would have to wait another year before going on Accutane. I will try to get to a dermatologist as soon as I can when I arrive
