Hey everybody! Like it says in the title I just made an account here but I've been to the website before to see what other people do for their acne. Anyway, i need some suggestions on what to do next because like a lot of you, I've tried LOTS of things for my acne and most didn't work. And the ones that did work only worked for a while then stopped working after a couple months. I'm an 18 year old male About to turn 19 in a couple weeks, have had acne since I was about 13. Wasn't really bad when it started but when I got to high school is when it got worse. I think I have moderate/severe acne and will post pictures as soon as I figure out how to through my iPhone lol(if any one can help with that please). really starting to consider accutane since nothing else seems to work for me and I've just had enough of this. I eat very healthy lots of fruits and vegetables and I avoid dairy as much as I can, exercise daily but I have a bad habit of sleeping pretty late(around 1 or 2 am). Any advice would be greatly appreciated and any other questions you have I'll be glad to answer!

Proactiv, murad, maxclarity, clean and clear, basically every over the counter medicine, some BP prescribed by a doctor and some pills by a derm(don't remember the name), and most recently epiduo which did really work at first but just makes my skin real dry and red now so I stopped about a week ago. I get some whiteheads, cysts, and got blackheads. Around my chin, my cheeks like below my eyes, a little on my forehead and some in my mustache area.

You could try finding out your other acne triggers. I did this by removing lots of things from my diet. I've found that dairy, soy, gluten, high sodium, refined sugars, processed foods, fried foods, citrus and peanuts all break me out. Look into elimination diets and consider trying one. I tried accutane and have some pretty bad permanent side effects. Such as joint pain in my wrists, elbows, knees and ankles, (I'm only 20...) more migraines and more severe ones than before, as well as very very sensitive skin. I took accutane because I had moderate, very persistent acne. I'd tried so many topical treatments with absolutely no results. Also my acne came back within 6 months after I finished my course. Diet and a chemical free skincare approach has helped more than anything else I've tried.

Yeah I dO know that dairy and fried foods break me out and avoid those. But wow that's a lot of stuff you took out I don't know how you do that lol. I am aware about the side effects also but I'm just tired of acne and dealing with it everyday and it's worked for a lot of people really well. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you though I'll try and see if other foods contribute to my break outs thanks!
