Hi! I'm 18 and I have moderate acne I think, but under bright lights it looks like I have severe acne (For example, H&M and Marshalls dressing rooms!).
Anyways, I've tried A LOT of stuff, tea tree oil, SA, all kinds of homemade masks, ACV, and Proactiv. Proactiv works, I think it's the Benzoyl Peroxide, but it really dries my face and I read somewhere that BP causes Premature Aging and I absolutely do not want that so I've decided to just use natural/gentle stuff from now on..
So I guess what I'm saying is by just taking really good care of my skin, and myself [drinking lots of water, fruits and veggies], will acne eventually go away?
I used to have light acne, and during the Puberty Years I had mild acne and I used Proactiv and it kept my acne under control but a year ago I stopped using Proactiv and thats when my face turned into cheese pizza ;_;
Now I use Aveeno Calming something facewash, Thayer's Witch Hazel Toner, Jojoba Oil Face Cream, morning and night, but at night in the shower I also use Queen Helene Mint Julep Facial Scrub, and every other night the mask.
No improvement with my acne at all, gets worse around my time of the month, but I've decided whatever, I'm going to stop stressing with my acne it will eventually go away, I have makeup to cover it up with anyways, and I don't even have a boyfriend anyways hehehe ;(

well tbh i think BP is the best way to go when youre getting rid of acne
i used Dan's regimen for like 5 or 6 months, but now my face is clear and i dont want to go through so much trouble with dryness and all the steps, so ive been using that clean & clear dual action moisturizer for a week and stopped using cleanser and i havent broken out yet.... so i think you should use the BP until youve been clear for a while, and then gradually change to something thats not as strong. and you should avoid the word "cream" in anything that goes on your face. too thick and clogs pores

oh and i dont have a bf either haha, but i feel a lot more confident now that my skins under control. dont give up so easily! lol good luck :)

well when you say you are going to try natural things from now on all those things youre putting on your face are not natural.. lol
i think for one you are using way too many things on your face so your face is probably irritated with all the different chemicals and doesnt even know what to adjust to because theres different things youre using. acne gets worse for most woman around their time, you should do some research on the BC pills that woman have trial and errored with and find one that can help with your hormonal breakouts. also i recommend either 1 ditching all your products and find "natural solutions" ie: honey cleanser or oatmeal cleanser or 2 stick to one cleanser and stay with it. if you say you dont care cause you can cover it up with makeup anyways then i would say ditch everything all together and keep at it with your diet and water and yes eventually the acne SHOULD go away on its own. if you have any questions ask away Posted Image
Good luck!

Thanks so much for your reply! :)
I think you're right about that, I do put too much stuff on face haha.
I guess they're not natural but gentle?
I tried using oatmeal to wash my face but I think it broke me out, not sure didn't really use it long enough, it could have just been that time of month.
Do you have any recommendations for cleansers/moisturizers?
Thanks :)

well they may not be as gentle as you are thinking! if oatmeal broke you out you should try honey. 100% PURE RAW organic honey not the crap in the little bear at walmart LOL.. honey is antibacterial and anti inflammatory so theres no way it should break you out unless you are allergic to honey.

any ways as for cleanser no i dont have any recommendations on specifics. if anything you should take a look at this..

http://www.acne.org/...ucts-acids-etc/

now once youre done looking at that if you MUST need a soap i highly suggest that you find a soap that is the PH level of 5-6 nothing more cause it will disturb the acid mantle.

That may be the most important link you will read on this site!^^^ haha jk but it really is important!!

let me know if you have anymore questions
