Hi everyone, so if you can't see already my name is Jeremy. Even though this is my first time actually posting on here, I've been reading the posts and reviews on acne.org for years. I started breaking out in the 6th grade when I was 11, and now I am 18 and in college. At the beginning of the 10th grade, my skin began to break out terribly and hasn't recovered since, and now I believe it is beginning to scar. I break out all over my face, neck, shoulders, chest, back, and even arms, and a lot of the time with my neck/torso/arm area it appears to be the result of a hair, as there is usually a hair growing in the middle of the pimple or inflamed area. My dermatologist says I also suffer from pretty severe rosacea, and my face is always red. I have been on almost everything except Accutane, including Neutrogena, AcneFree, and Clean and Clear. Last November, my regular doctor put me on 10% benzoyl peroxide in the morning and .05% tretinoin cream in the evening, along with putting me on doxycycline. I got to go to the dermatologist for the first time last April, where I was at first prescribed minocycline and Ziana gel, but after 3 months with no results I was put back on the .05% tretinoin cream. I haven't been back since then, because my insurance ran out shortly after. This has completely ruined my social life, and my confidence - I haven't had a girlfriend in over 3 years now, a camera flash highlights the redness and acne spots and makes me look horrible, and girls won't even give me a second look. I spend most of my time alone, because I get the feeling that the few friends I do have think they can't pick girls up when I am with them because of my acne. No matter what I say to my parents, they think I am only overreacting and I'm just not trying hard enough to get to know people and that I want to be alone, but that just isn't the case. I'm desperate for help, and I really just need to know that things will improve, because after 7 years with nothing but worsening acne it's driving me insane. Help?

Hi keep your head up! I to suffer from break outs on my face shoulders and back. I just went back to see the derm and she put me on Solodyn and Ziana using a 10% bp wash. I am hoping to see results soon, havent been on the meds that long. Sad to say I get dark spots all over where I break out. Why not try the accutane? Thats my next move if this don't help. Far as the girls well beauty is in the eye of the beholder, the right chick will look past that to get to know you.
