Ok so I'm 17 years old, about to be 18. I am a normal, athletic, teenage boy. I play football, basketball, and track and have never had any serious case of bad acne. I occasionally get a pimple on my chin or cheek but nothing serious, ever. on my back and chest it is even more rare. However, about 2 months ago i got a bad breakout on my back, which then spread to my chest. at first I thought they would just go away in a week like usual but they got worse, I shower after every workout and started taking tetracycline which didn't seem to have any effect on it. I took about a month cycle of that. no result. I then put some antibacterial cream on it everyday, still no effect. I then went to a doctor who told me it was Staph. This made sense to me because it started during football and people get this often from lockerrooms, shoulder pads, all that stuff. He prescribed me duricef, bactrim ( two antibiotics ) and a liquid soap to cover it with after showers called hybiclense. I've been taking this stuff for about 4 days now and still have not seen any results.


Here are pictures of my chest and both shoulders as of now, keep in mind the flaky, red, dryness of my skin in the area is due to the hibiclense i lather it with everyday. still it continues to worry me. Anyone have any hunch on what this might be? what I should do about it?

Okay. Firstly, I'd say one thing.It is not on your face so your don't have too be embarrassed. Two. yes, it is resonably bad. GO TO A DERM and ask for accutane maybe?

I know but spring break is just around the corner and I need this to clear up before I go to the beach! Anyone that thinks this might be Staph? That's what the doctor said but I'm just not sure anymore since nothing seems to work.

TBH i would leavwe it alone for z\ week and see what happens
