I am so happy I found this website! Everyone seems to know a lot of useful information and very kind.
My story: in highschool my sister would literally envy my skin because it was flawless. I wouldn't even wash my face ( i wouldn't dare do that now). My sister has battled acne and I would always feel bad for her. She has tried everything and now at her age mid 30's she has calmed it down on her own! She looks great!
Now it's my turn..i wish i would've had acne when i was younger instead at 25 years old. I get cyst that hurt for weeks or months. I get super bad hyper pigmentation as well. I went to the derm and I was given topicals and antibiotics. It didn't work. Next was cortisone shots and some prednisone. Which worked but I did notice a temporary fix. Now I'm on birth control: trinessa. I'm almost done with my second pack. Let me tell you..I'm worse then I've ever been with acne. One thing that's nice is that my cyst aren't here as often and what feels and looks like a cyst actually come to a head a lot quicker. But I have little bumps all over my checks and chin area. Also pigmentation is so bad after they pop!!!
I also use ceravae, netrogena oil free acne wash, topicals are ziana and I just ran out of aczone. Bc pill: trinessa. First time on any bc pill. My friend mentioned spiro pills the blood pressure one that's given in a low dose.
Could this be the birth control??? Because its a generic?I'm trying to stick it out for the three months but i dont think I can hold on any longer! It's driving me nuts
Any advice would be awesome!
Also any raw honey mask lovers out there??

Maybe ask for spiro if you think your acne is hormonal.

I'm a huge fan of raw honey masks! I'm actually doing a UMF 16+ manuka honey mask as I write this... I've got my little routine down, manuka honey mask while I drink my chamomile lavender tea, make more tea in a little bowl. Then tone with the chamomile lavender tea (and some tea tree!) from my little bowl. Every night! It's made worlds of difference in my scarring, and it helps with my active acne significantly as well. After the tea dries I dot on some more manuka on any active or heavily scarred spots and sleep with that little bit on.
I'm also on birth control, the generic brand of a really low dose alesse21. I've been on it for 5+ years though, I need it for cycle irregularity. Once my doctor tried to switch me to a higher dose pill because my cramps get so bad, but my skin broke out SO badly that I switched back to my generic of the alesse21.
I tried topicals, birth control, and accutane. None of these were the solution for me. I swear by diet changes and a chemical free routine.

Thank you so much for both of the replies.
I am sitting here with my first raw honey mask! The tea tip is awesome and I will for sure try that..one thing i did read was: Manuka honey is not good for people with oily skin? Do you have oily or dry skin? I'm using just the plain raw honey..I did see the other one with +15 in it. I want to try it, but I'm a little nervous.
I'm glad you found something that works for you..I hope this helps. When I looked in the mirror as I was applying the honey I said to myself I think it's time to stop my bc pill..it's never been worse..tiny little bumps and 5 cyst that hurt. Im thinking of scheduling an emergency cortizone shot..

I have skin that is prone to being oily. I also have very sensitive skin that dries out easily. Since starting the manuka honey my skin has been VERY balanced. Neither oily nor dry.
