Yes, it will exfoliate the top layer of skin where the sunless tan pigment dyes the skin. It's best to say away from scrubs, loofahs, and BHA's and AHA's. They are great to use prior to the sunless tan because of their ability to exfoliate. Which will allow your skin to accept the sunless tan and go on smooth without streaking. Try to use a moisturizing bodywash without the use of a washcloth or loofah. Moisturize with an oil-free lotion to prolong the length of your tan. It's also best to shave or wax the day before your sunless tan. I've always shaved the day of without problems. I do use my own sunless tanner so I apply as frequently as I want through out the week. So shaving(exfoliating) has never been an issue. But when I get a Mystic tan I wax.
