I've been on accutane (clarus) for 104 days now. (im 18/yr male 140 lbs, on 60mg) The side effects have been terrible since the second week. My skin is always bright red and dry. If i go without applying chap stick for more than 10-15 minutes, my lips will crack, peel and bleed. Over the last month, I've also noticed that the inside of my nose is incredibly dry. Just moving my nose around feels like theres sand inside of it, and I had a nose bleed today. My skin is always flakey, even with moisturizer it only is non flakey for about an hour or two after applying it. Also, every moisturizer that I've tried has made my skin burn and turn even more red for about 20 minutes after using it. ( I'm using cetaphil moisturizer). I also have really bad dandruff, and a sore lower back. (two things i never had before accutane). Along with these side effects, I'm still breaking out pretty badly. I have three cysts on my face, and 4-5 white heads. I have one main cyst on my shoulder as well. I know it can take a full 4 months or even longer to notice it working, but I'm starting to get really depressed and lose hope. The realization that I could need a 2nd course of tane is always on my mind, and I really don't think I could do another full 6 months of these hellish side effects. Did anyone have terrible side effects and breakouts up untill the end of the 4th month? When did it start to get better? I just wanted to be clear for new years

I had a pretty bad breakout in the last month I was on accutane, but I'm now convinced it's because I didn't realize the impact of diet on acne then, and was consuming so much peanut butter (which I now know causes me cysts). I had bad side effects while on accutane, that still haven't gone away entirely (I'm a year post accutane). I have joint pain mainly in my wrists, elbows, and ankles, lower back pain, more migraines and super sensitive skin. Although I broke out near the end of my course, for the month following my course my skin kept getting clearer. My skin was at it's best about 1-3 months AFTER my course had finished. My skin was back to how it was before my course of accutane about 6 months after I stopped. I'm not going to be taking another course though since risking more side effects or having the ones I'm stuck with get permanently worse isn't worth it for me.

Hey bro, get yourself some all natural emu oil. It's been used by aborigines in Australia to heal wounds and take down inflammation for thousands of years. Get 100% natural emu oil. Moisturizers you get from the store like Cetaphil have chemicals in them that your skin might not be able to tolerate now that it's on Accutane. Just slather on a bunch of emu oil at night (it will make your face shiny, so you'll want to do it at night) and in the morning your face should be a lot less red. Give it a try. You can buy it off the internet like from amazon.
