Not really sure if this belongs in this particular forum, but it seemed like a good place to put it at the time.

Persa-gel 10 gets a check with a little smiley face? How does that make sense? And why is it that a moisturizer doesn't cut it if (gasp) all it does is moisturize? I'm getting the feeling that Paula Begoun and Beautypedia should be taken with a gigantic grain of salt. Am I wrong?

I am currently reading a book by her (I had no idea who she was 2 weeks ago), and no I don't use her products.

Persa-gel isn't effective because 1. It's marketed as a spot treatment, you can't "spot treat" acne, really. By the time a zit is on your skin, the damage has been done....BP should be put all over areas where acne regularly frequents to disinfect and kill the bacteria.
Persa gel may be effective for some people....it's a small tiny container so, it won't last long. BP is BP, though...I am sure if you used it all over your skin all the time, it'd stop some peoples acne.

And her opinion of what she thinks of certain products is just that.

She rated some makeup called "TLC" by alamay or something like that....I looked up some of the ingredients in that foundation, and in her BOOK she says to avoid lemon on the skin because its an irritatant, but it's in that makeup.

I'v learned ALOT from her book so far, I think, at least BEFORE like....6-7 years ago she really did care about fighting big cosmetic companies and putting the truth out there....now, maybe things have changed and it's all about the money.

Well, I like her products and her review site, but I wonder how objective and disinterested she can be with other lines of products if she sells her own line. It's a conflict of interest, ya know? But after reading her reviews she does seem to know what she's talking about and she recommends a lot of products besides her own. I don't take everything she says as gospel- some of my fav products are ones she doesn't recommend, but I'll use her reviews in my research.
