Hi all, i am on an acne regimen that leaves my skin dry and in desperate need of moisturizer. I am finding the ingredients in OTC moisturizers to be downright pore clogging and counter productive. Can anyone recommend a more natural moisturizer that

has ingredients that won't clog pores (so no mineral oil or petroleum or other comodogenic ingredients)

does not just sit on my skin (blocking pores) and create that greasy look

It seems to me that some organic products can also contain natural ingredients that still clog pores.

Thanks for all your help!

It's quite expensive but natural. I haven't used it, just bringing it to your attention.

Baby Johnson's moisturizing cream is really soft on the skin and improves dryness
There's also this antioxidant moisturizing cream I found at Trader Joe's... it's really light on the skin and it leaves it feeling fresh; it's called Trader Joe's Spa Regenerating antioxidant moisturizing face lotion

hope this helped :)

I've been using this stuff:

For about a week now, really like it so far.
Combats my dry skin & leaves it looking pretty matte & its as close to being natrual as I'm probably going to get. ;)

CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion is great, non-pricey, approved for eczema, and for me, it's just a skin saviour. I couldn't survive BPO without it. It comes in a huge 12 oz. bottle. the following is the link for Paula Begoun's review of it. She analyzes ingredients pretty well! :) http://www.beautyped...T4uaJ8NJVj3s9Y=

Cerave broke me out. The two ceteryl (sp?) alcohols in it are comedogenic. I know quite a few others who also broke out from it.

BUT many people can use it w/o breakouts. You'll know early on if you can't - like within a week or two.

Oh, I use LRP toleriane fluide, but I don't think you'd like that because it leaves a dewy finish, not matte.

I agree with Prettywords. CeraVe lotion broke me out as well. The LRP Toleriane Fluide is light and does have a dewy finish, but works wonderful for light moisture without breakouts. I also use the LRP Toleriane line. I use the Toleriane Ultra which is nothing short of amazing. They are both free of mineral oil. Glycerin oil (vegetable based) is what gives you hydration in these two brands formulation. It's great for dry skin. I have found that anything that offers some hydration to some extent for the most part won't be matte. If it is matte like hydration and not dewy there seems to be some type of "cone" listed in the ingredients. Which gives you that slip or powder like feel. Which is fab for day wear or under makeup. However, at night I go for full moisture. Skin repairs at night and it's a great time to offer up much needed moisture for your skin!

Comedogenicity is kind of all dependent on your skin. If your skin is oily, a heavier lotion (like this one) might aid in breaking you out. However, especially with your skin (which is about the same color as mine), you need to be careful to avoid contact dermatitis, so you need something that effectively counteracts irritation and dryness. If not CeraVe, I'd definitely recommend using something with aloe, bisabolol, or some other anti-inflammatory anti-irritant in it to soothe irritation. I use CeraVe in addition with some Paula's Choice products and AHA in the morning to soothe irritation from my acne treatment at night. Contact dermatitis can cause hyperpigmentation in any skin with color in it. I've struggled with that, and believe me you DONT wanna go there. If you do get cerave, get the big bottle, not CeraVe am or pm, as those aren't as moisturizing. Also, I love LRP, especially their sunscreens, but I'd definitely try CeraVe first (it's a lot less pricey!).

Petroleum (Vaseline) can be used at night for added moisture. A very small amount during the day would be fine as well to combat dryness and help heal your skin.
