Right now I am simply using a "deep clean" face wash. Should I switch to an anti-acne one?
Do anti-acne face washes also clean your face?

You'd be better off using a gentle cleanser such as Purpose and either your medication afterwards or a medicated toner that will stay on your skin longer. I really like Mario Badescu's toners.

Ditto on gentle cleansers. I also second Purpose cleanser and using an acne treatment like a lotion, cream, or toner that will stay on longer on your face.
Acne fighting cleansers in general have a tendency to dry out your face.

I use both. When I first get into the shower, I use AcneFree's anti-blemish wash and wait a little before leaving Noxzema on my face for a couple of minutes. Noxzema isn't really a "cleanser" but it does wonders for my skin! It dries out the excess oil as well as pimples, and cleans my skin so deep.

I use anti aging cleansers and find they are most effective in treating dead skin cells, acne, and creating a nice glow without being too harsh.
