Soo i got on differin+duac+minocycline about 6 months ago. Not my first treatment ever, before this treatment i did over the counter (proactive, clean and clear, other stuff too), retin-A, minocycline, doxcycline. I did all those previous treatments over a 4 year period. Anyways i used differin+duac+minocycline for about 3 months, worked pretty good, still got the occasional cyst and pimples. I got off the minocycline and started on some chinese herbs. After my cysts stopped coming, i stopped using duac to avoid redness. So i was just using differin for about a month month and a half. Now I've been off differin for a few weeks, and have very small or limited breakouts. Basically acnes not my problem what is though is..

I now have red marks all over from previous cysts/pimples. My complexion is always pink or red.

Now I've tried just about everything to combat these.
-For my red complexion: I've tried different cleaners (all which are for sensitive skin, like purpose cleansers). I've tried specailly formulated green moisturizers. I've tried essential oils. I use special suncreen everyday (elta md).
-For my acne marks i've tried: meladerm (skin bleaching stuff), essential oils, AHA+, salycic acid.

The bottom line is nothing works for me. I know time is suppose to help, but I just don't see the slightest change after months, plus now my face is always fucking red. I really don't know what to do, I feel hopeless, my minds all fucked up cuz i know if anymore breakouts happen i get more marks to go with my red face, plus i already look like fucking shit. Pleasssse help me.

Have you tried an oatmeal mask?

Oatmeal mask is probably the only thing I haven't tried. What's the formula/ingredients? Does it cause acne?

100% colloidal oatmeal is great for redness. It's a temporary solution (i.e. it won't fade them permanently) but it's a great way to keep your skin in balance and heal it with a gentle ingredient. Colloidal oatmeal is usually very messy to use but effective! What are you using right now in the way of:

cleanser
toner
exfoliant
spf
moisturizer
treatment

True. An oatmeal mask is more of a "I'm red and itchy and I need this gone NOW because I have to get up early for work and I can't sleep and it's driving me crazy!" solution.

I like to put the oatmeal in a food processor and get it as finely ground as I can. And add honey, just enough so it all sticks together. I'll leave it on anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours and wash it off with a super gentle cleanser and the coldest water I can stand (the shock of cold helps with the itching too) and moisturize.

I use purpose cleanser (its suppose to one the gentlest cleaners for sensitive skin). I use an essential oil blend (rosemary oil, aloe vera, ginseng, pearl extract, extracts of reishi-its called Golden Sunshine) and elta md (sunscreen for sensitive acne prone, rosacea, hyperpigmentation prone skin). I was using Dan's AHA+ every other night, but I stopped cuz I think it was too irritating. I've started using bio oil at night, as a moisturizer and hyperpigmentation treatment. I use BP and differin as a spot treatment if I have a pimple coming up. I also use a La Roche moisturizer (anti-redness moisturizer) some nights with the bio oil. I also take Brewer's yeast supplements and fish oil. I wash my face twice a day.

Does the oatmeal help with dryness as well as redness? I have red marks on my skin from previous breakouts and my skin is CRAZY dry right now because it's winter. Would an oatmeal mask help with that?

I can help some. But you'd be better off with a humidifier and jojoba oil.

Now over a month later, I still have red spots all over my face. I am currently using La Roche-Posay Effeclar Line with Tolerian Ultra(they told me its supposed to reduce the redness... Long story short, I tried everything to cure my acne...I was doing Okay for about a year, then I started changing products and now my face is extremely irritated. PLEASE anyone HELP. I have been dealing whith acne since 10 years old, but now these red spots on my face... I cant take it much Longer.

Hey so I've changed things up a little since the last post.

AM: Now I wash with Pur Life Oatmeal Facial Cleanser, apply diluated ACV to red marks, then apply essential oils then apply special sunscreen (elta MD). Take Brewers Yeast and fish oil and about a tablespoon of ACV.
PM: Cleanser with Pur Life Oatmeal Cleasner, apply diluated ACV to red marks, apply Triderma Facial Redness Repair, apply Bio oil. Take Brewers yeast and fish oil and ACV.

Facial redness under control during day, but after wash my face in evening (after about 6pm) face is hot and red. Just started Triderma, new product but suppose to be promising. I'll keep everyone updated, also looking into Chinese herbs (some experts think red face/heat comes from heat in lungs and stomach). Hopefully my regmin works, I go back to college in less to a week and this red face is getting absurb coupled with red marks. If I drink any alcohol my face goes crazy beat red, embarrassing to say the VERY least in the college life scene.
