So I'll introduce myself, get the whole acne blah out the way.

24, male. Had really bad acne until about 23. Cleared up, scars were left, whatever, was happy about it. About 2 months ago, huge breakout again, out of nowhere. So it's calmed down, pimples/cysts are gone, but those horrid red marks!

Well, despite from my lesson last time, I tried all these bullshit remedies. And I found the best one. Make up. That and nothing. My face healed the quickest when I just followed a good washing routine without any bullshit topicals. Just m.h.o., but cut your arm, how long does it take to fade? Y'know? Same shit with your face, but at least in my exp, putting all these crazy remedies made shit worse.

I will un-shamingly admit that I wear make up. I tried it for the first time yesterday, and with help from my sister and the internet, my skin looked flawless. Yea you could see a little bit, but for the most part I felt like I was Bradd Pitt (because we all know he has lots of scars, but never shows it!) I got my ears pierced that day, and she showed me my ears in the mirror under a bright light. (I didn't even look at my fucking ears, i just stared at how flawless my shit was.)

The best part is, as I wear make up for a few weeks/months my shit will fade along with it, so as time progresses, I'll need less and less.

Do some research and find which make ups will be good for you. I use Loreal Sutdio secrets (green concealer), and loreal true match (powder foundation?). Works great.

I personally feel that the red makrs are worse than acne itself. After I found how amazing this shit works, I realize how long I've been lied to by girls. Seriously, it's no wonder the world is so superficial. I feel women have to try so much harder than guys. What're you gonna do though, if you can't beat 'em join 'em.

Hope this helps, guys. Thanks!

Lmao! I know! Make up is just another way to lie to men (; lol jk

Hey! There's actually sites that sell makeup for men(: that way it won't have like shimmer sometimes and stuff(:

If your trying to cover up the red marks, the green concealer is meant for that(:

Also what I love is mabellines super stay liquid foundation. It really does stay on so well and looks natural! So try that? I wear it when I go to shows or raves and boyyyyyy let me tell you it lives up to it's name!

That's cool your all open with it and stuff

it's good you can pull it off! the gender roles are blurring more and more nowadays anyway, so why shouldn't men benefit from the power of makeup? other than extreme fashion makeup and theatrics, it's not supposed to look like you're wearing it anyway. so if you do it right, no one should know! just be sure to wash it all off before bed to keep your skin healthy or you could end up clogging your pores.

If it works for you and makes you feel good DO IT. I don't think we use to to "lie" to guys. I'm pretty sure most men are well aware that women wear makeup.

...yes, because the only reason women wear makeup = to seduce men, therefore we must be lying to them.

Yay, sexism.

People should be able to do whatever the hell they want, what on earth is so gender-specific about looking good? I don't even use makeup and I can see how stupid this is.

i never tried makeup, i considered myself too much a 'tragic soul,' all that jazz about looking good on the outside but not feeling it on the inside, so i told myself i wouldnt like the way i looked with makeup until i was a bit more comfortable with the rest of me, then i had the colostomy surgery about 8 years ago, and now i have a gigantic disfiguring scar going down from the middle of my chest to my waist, so since looking good is out of the picture forever, im focusing on an attractive personality instead, dont need makeup for that!

Who says scars make someone physically ugly?

If it takes a LOT to make someone GORGEOUS, it takes a LOT to make someone ugly, too.

Jeeeeesus.

Imagine you met such a wonderful, sweet, beautiful girl.
You guys get into bed
and you see she has a scar from her beautiful chest down her perfectly toned waist from a surgery.

Is she ugly all of a sudden?

i agree that water and time is the best for scars.... products are all bullshit

i dont agree with makeup though.... cmon dude youre a man... i mean il admit in highschool there were a couple time i wore a spot cover up thing for some pimpled i had but that ended quickly

makeup=insecurity in my mind. same for girls too i prefer a girl with no makeup even withblemishes over a girl with 10 pounds of makeup

Hey all, no disrespect was given in anyway. If you took it that way, well shit, I'm not responsible for how you interoperate, y'know?

And to all who think men shouldn't wear make up, why not?

You say it's an insecurity, well of course it is. And I'm tackling it head on. If you're insecure about being fat, what do you do? You hit the gym, no?

I know there's a lot of people who sometimes won't' even leave the house cuz of how they look, (usually guys). Whatever makes me happy and gets me on my grind again, ya digg?

Thanks for the support!

I'm with you on this one. Before when I felt really bad about breakout I'd put some foundation and try to cover stuff.
Lately I've been researching more and more and gonna buy some concealer to use.

Nothing can fix my acne, might as well hide them...
