1. Get a professional allergy test - skin prick and blood
2. Strictly follow allergy diet - no cheating!
3. Drink 8-10 large glasses of water daily
4. Suppliments for acne and inflammation control:
Zinc Picolinate (absorbs better) 50 mg
Ester C 500 mg
Glutamine (heals gut) 2000 mg
Quercetin with Bromelain (anti-inflammatory) 800 mg + 200 mg
Multi-vitamin (health food store brand - high potency)
Nordic Naturals Omega-3 690 mg
Citrical + D3 (vitamin D is good for healing) 600 mg + 750 iu
Ultra Flora Plus - no dairy (refrigerated high # of live flora)
Flaxseed ground 1-2 tablespoons
5. Drink a green smoothie daily - here is one I like:
Banana
Bunch of greens, whatever is on hand (chard, kale, spinach, dandelion, etc)
Handful of raw walnuts or almonds
Tablespoon of flaxseed meal (keep refridgerated)
Handful of blueberries or pieces of peach, etc. (I freeze and add)
Tablespoon of roasted almond butter
Rice milk
Dermatologist (board certified but wholistic approach)
1. Avoid antibiotics and harsh acne products
2. Wash with Dr Bronner's castille baby liquid soap
3. Use a prescription topical retinoid (heals skin and normalizes pore function)
4. Use perscription Sodium Sulfacetamide 10% - Sulfer 5% lotion as nighttime spot tx for any arising blemishes (amazingly effective but gentle)
5. Take one Integrative Theraputics "Tyler Yeast Balance Complex" 2x/day for 3 mo and then 1 a day
6. Take two Dr Patrick Flanagan's Mega H caps in the am for 6 mo and then 1 a day for 6 more months
Hope this helps!
I am going to stick with Cetaphil Antibacterial Bar for awhile until I get used to all the other changes and then try the Dr Bronner's soap. I want to evaluate the food and suppliment changes before I try changing cleansers. I am not sure about the Mega H suppliment...doesn't make sense to my scientific mind but I'm checking with my regular doc who is also wholistic and will go with his advice.
