Now, since yesterday I also bit a little bit of BP around my cheek area because it seemed a tad itchy (and has been before I started on bio oil) and were a couple of tiny pimples near my jaw (shaving area). So to head off any possible outbreaks I used a little BP on both cheeks. Then afterwards I still went ahead with the bio oil (and I've been quite liberal with it). And boy did my face get itchy, irritated and red! Fortunately it is cold so I could open the window and soothe my face with some cold air, and I ended up rinsing my cheeks with a bit of luke warm water and that helped soothe it a bit.
This morning my face had calmed down, so I still washed my face with cleanser, applied BP to forehead, tiny bit to cheek pimples, and then just used regular moisturizer. So my question is what might have caused this adverse reaction? Are my cheeks more sensitive to BP (my forehead just takes it and doesn't react at all!), and plus the bio oil it really reacted badly? Do some people find different areas of the face are more sensitive to it?
As I say, I really want to fade marks on my cheeks so that's why I've been using bio oil there - and somebody said in one of my threads that if you do, replace it as the third step (so don't moisturize and then add oil, that'd be overkill). But can this be a bit much for your skin with BP? Might I back off for a bit now, then try adding Bio Oil in small amounts to my cheeks after? Though, my cheeks are feeling a little irritated after this morning again, might I just back off them altogether?
I don't think my skin is overly sensitive to Bio oil, because I have been using it since the weekend and I didn't have any reaction. Or might it still be sensitive but take time to react?
I also have some AHA 10% lotion coming as well to try use for spot fade, how would I go about using that to avoid the same problem?
Thank you!!
