Also, is it absolutely necessary to take Antibiotics while using Tretinoin?

Im in the UK and I said to my doctor 'I've heard retin-a is good especially for my blackheads' so she just said 'ok' and prescribed it. It's only acne treatment, its not an omg serious medication. And people say you should go on anti biotics to stop the initial breakout but they havent stopped it for me.
