EDIT: a picture to show you what I mean, the camera isn't good enough to pick up the splotchyness though:

Concealer on the left, nothing on the right

I'm on the regimen and after I apply the moisturiser I apply concealer. I've been using standard concealer from boots for years but recently bought some specialist male concealer called Manza (I think the site was www.manza.co.uk). Its pretty good, it disguises my red marks well and nobody has questioned whether I'm wearing make-up so far! Hope it helps!

It's hard to tell without matching you in person (I know it's embarrassing, but any staff member would be happy to help you, or even a female friend), but if I were you I'd try and match a lighter shade, and definitely something more pink-toned, rather than orange. Which Almay Smart Shade colour of concealer did you buy? Perhaps try a "fair" (or even ivory?) shade, or something similar. You can match it against your hand colour tone, but be careful if you get more sun exposure there because obviously it'll be the wrong tone. To match a colour, I apply it to my jaw (that way it's my "natural" colour, with no influence from redness, etc.), and check if it matches (compared to the other side) whilst I'm blending it in.
If you don't want to hang around the shops trying stuff on, ask for test samples (most places are happy to do this), take them home and try them out. You can even post the pics up here and we'll help you choose the best match!
