Hi guys,
I'm 16 years old and lately I have started to have more and more problems with acne. I have had acne for about 2 years now, but it was always just a few white heads and almost no redness. However, about 2 months ago the acne started to get a lot worse. Now I don't have much whiteheads, I have more of those underskin and red ones. Right after it started to get worse I cut off all oily/greasy foods, sugary foods and drinks and everything like that. Now I drink only plain water and I try to eat mostly healthy foods, but to no avail! I expected that once I cut off the bad foods my face will clear up, but ironically it get's worse day by day. So I tried searching for some home remedies and stuff like that and I found a lot of good reviews for egg white mask. So I tried it and it worked quite ok - cleared the redness and so I tried it a couple of more times( not daily, about 2 times a week), but now it somehow stopped working. Instead it dries my skin and makes it more red.
The day before yesterday I did a stupid thing - I put toothpaste all over my face and left it overnight. I thought that it will decrease the redness, but when I woke up and washed the toothpaste of my face was sore and red and really dry. At night the same day I read on the internet that egg yolk is a great moisturizer and so I immediately mixed the yolk and put it on my face for about 15 minutes. But when I washed it of my skin was even more dry and red! This was yesterday. From then I haven't put anything on my face, because I think I irritated it enough for a day. Today my face is red all day, everywhere. And so my question is -
1) Should I try to put on the aspirin mask(or some other mask) and then some moisturizer?
2) Put only the moisturizer?
3) Put nothing on my face and leave it rest and calm down on it's own?
Please, help me - It's really not nice going to school with such a red and ugly skin! Thanks
Leave It Or Treat It?

you shouldn't be using so many masks in one week. usually they say 1 mask per week is the way to go. let your face calm down from the toothpaste. toothpaste is good for spot treating, but i wouldn't suggest putting it all over your entire face. it might even burn your skin if it's sensitive. get a mild cleanser, some treatment, and a good moisturizer. check out dan's regimen!
