So has anyone tried the herb guggul? It's been mentioned on here before; it's mainly used as a treatment for high cholesterol but studies have been done indicating it is useful for cystic acne because it decreases the skin's production of sebum. I'm at my wits end and figured I'd give it a try. Does anyone have a good experience with it?

I don't know about sebum production, but back when I had cystic acne, I'd say it helped curb the amount I had by 70% or so, even when I was using crappy topicals that were screwing up my skin big time. I wouldn't call it a cure, but it'd be worth adding into your acne fighting arsenal. Good luck!

What's the guggulsterone content Chris? I was taking like 25mg of guggulsterone and 500mg of guggul total, source's natural brand I believe.

http://www.amazon.co...22515830&sr=8-3 its this brand right here. When I read about guggul for acne this brand comes up a lot. I've taken it off and on for a few months and it does seem to help with me skin when Im taking it. Im taking the lowest dose of 2 a day, but I think I was getting better results with 4. Im taking other things aswell and do not want to over do it though, especially with something that may not be safe in the long run
